Feedback needed for our 'Linux Game Of The Year Award' that will start soon

Hum, I can't see any games to vote for, in any category? I tried Firefox and Chrome :/ I want to vote Quadrilateral Cowboy for best story, I wish other story driven games would be as confident and subtle as that. Also, the port is very good, even on my old hardware.

I am not currently able to support, but I will certainly as soon as I get a pay rise or otherwise gets more financially secure. I have been thinking about an article on Quadrilateral Cowboy's narrative style (I loved that game, and I do not think it gets enough coverage that I see), I will contribute it here if I ever get around to it. As someone said, I have never found a linux gaming site that has held anywhere near this quality and flow of articles, GoL and Rock Paper Shotgun are the only two gaming sites I visit at all, rest is garbage often.

I had essentially given up gaming (which was too bad since it is very important to me) since going over to GNU/Linux for other reasons, GoL has helped me get back into it!

The 'A Good Bundle' game bundle on itch is a pretty good deal, supports charity

Did trolltrump just wander in here? :P I am very tempted, nice initiative! Must be very hard to be positive in the USA today.

Also, check out the latest humble bundle, TIS-100 [External Link] for free (or more if you want I guess). No reason not to try!

I would love to have a ppa for the linux kernel 4.9 with southern islands support enabled, and a ppa with stable current amd-gpu (and -PRO also pretty please). I consider myself quite l33t haxxor at this stuff most of the time, but drivers and kernel and stuff are just too confusing.

The Humble Store is having a huge birthday sale, tons of stuff for insanely cheap

Quoting: pbI have Anodyne on Steam - it was fun while it worked, but I haven't been able to run it for the last two years (SteamOS, Debian, Arch...). No idea when exactly it stopped working or how to fix it - also don't know if the GOG version is also broken, but I think you can get a refund if the game doesn't work and they are not able to help you fix it.

[edit] From what I see, Anodyne on GOG does not list Linux as supported platform.
I see! Strange, in the humble store there seems to be a linux version done separately (SWF instead of AIR app) - there it is full price though currently.

GOG also has a big sale, I am tempted by Anodyne (ca. $4, DRM-free, made in flash though (wth)) [External Link], got a nice review at RPS [External Link]. I got Icewind Dale EE [External Link], which I loved as a kid, and it is great - I really like the Story Mode difficulty setting, I'm not in it for the combat really! Check out all GoG deals like this:

The corresponding listing is more difficult and buggy at humble store I find, which is sad, since I prefer humble otherwise - nice to give 10% to FSF :)

Wine allowed me to re-live a gaming experience I had from when I was a child on Linux

Wine has given me much joy, I even contributed [External Link] to the AppDB (get that game, it is awesome. And Quadrilateral Cowboy (also from Blendo Games) is linux native, I might contribute and article about it's narrative mechanics to GoL about it sometime, it's great and interesting.)

I am SUPER tempted to buy Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines from GOG now (sale!) [External Link], I played it way back and it is SUCH AWESOME! I wonder if I have the DVD somewhere... It apparently can work well with WINE. I love WINE. I don't drink though :P

I hope I didn't triggered the LJW (Linux Justice Warriors) out there <3

I got this a long time ago in a bundle, never tried it though (it looks boring). When it is done, I will!

I just bought Quadrilateral Cowboy (humblestore, DRM-free/Steam) [External Link], which has drained my game budget for a while. These two last bundles have been sweet anyhow! One can choose to donate to Free Software Foundation [External Link] (I was surprised by that, but they are selectable), so go ahead!

I love Blendo Games [External Link] (Brendon's earlier masterpieces Gravity Bone and Thirthy Flights of Loving work with wine, so give them a go (GB is free, TFoL around 5$)). I even made a page for WineHQ for TFoL [External Link] to get more linux people to try it, Blendo Games did port Quadrilateral Cowboy to linux (and it works GREAT!) so I want to encourage Brendon to continue supporting linux! (I sent him a letter as well - and paid full price for QC and TFoL).
