Is the first time that I hear that Valve has supported a studio directly by porting a Game to SteamOS. Are there other examples of Games where Valve has helped directly with development power?
I think it's very clever what Valve and Psyonix have done together. With a fraction of the effort they have put a greater success than Overwatch. Blizzard copied now Rocket League.
It seems there is also a clever marketing now. My nephew asked for Rocket League a week after it was published for Linux. :) He actually plays otherwise only Minecraft.

I already expected this. Not to publish for Linux and Mac means simply to lose money. It's maybe not a lot of money, but money is money. Such games are very expensive to develop. You want to issue as many copies as possible. Therefore I think big games like Deus Ex are still designed from the outset to be portable.

It's a good game but the lack of any steam controller support really sucks. Would be so cool to use the gyro for wheel and the flux trigger for acceleration like I can do with F1 2015.

Because Total War: Warhammer also shows up now on the radar, it can only be Warhammer 40k. I think this is the most realistic option. This "808" Dr. Doom thing is nice but to weak. How to explain the SB12S string then?
Just my thoughts.

Quoting: GuestI think life is strange was the game. Or more likely Total War Warhammer since they finally confirmed it's still coming. Actually the same hint IS still there so I guess we still don't know.(808 SB12S = MC HAMMER) + (Mars = War) -> War Hammer

Dear Valve and Steam Machines OEMs, you have it all wrong

DELL simply sold its hardware with SteamOS. Just as they offer Ubuntu as an alternative for PCs and Laptops. There is no big plan behind. But that is the strength of the concept. The first Android smartphones were not particularly useful and much too expensive. This will get better with time, as more and more Steam Machines appear. Valve makes it for the manufacturers as easy as possible. Just like Google they do not burden them with too many requirements. With smartphones indeed nobody says that you can not buy because there are too many different models.
Just my opinion.

As long as Windows is preinstalled on almost every new PC or laptop, it stays an uphill battle for Linux.

Dell set to introduce beefed up Steam Machines

Many journalists do not consider the relatively low production costs of steam machines for the manufacturers. DELL has no license costs nor observe any restrictions. They make use of synergies here. Is such another alien ware box with SteamOS. What do they risk?
Sooner or later SteamOS will also prevail in the mass market, because the whole concept makes just a lot more sense. Ultimately, many people wait for Sony finally brings out a steam machine. See the PS4 hacks. :)
