Just played a game, everything worked fine for me. Played the Crystal Cruiser A and got pretty lucky, had a boarding crew of two Crystals + two Lanius, two Flak Cannon Mark I's, the starting Heavy Crystal Launcher, and a Healing Bomb, plus I managed to pick up a Clone Bay in sector 6 which made me a lean, mean, boarding machine! I hadn't really realized the utility of the Healing Bomb paired with the Clone Bay before. That's one of the things I love about this game, I'm still discovering new strategies and synergies 350 hours in. Breezed through the flagship fight no problem, though it was a fun challenge working to kill off all the crew in the main compartment with what I had. They couldn't really fight the lockout + asphyxiation strategy though! ^_^
The game itself looks slightly different, now that several bits of text have been replaced with icons, but it wasn't too confusing since I knew where everything was already and they generally made sense.

Cattle and Crops, a farming simulation and management game that has Linux support
22 Jan 2018 at 8:48 pm UTC
minions farmhands to actually go out and plow/plant/harvest the fields for me. Why has no one pulled a "Cities: Skylines"-type remake of Sim Farm yet? :(

Quoting: silmethEhh. I’d like to see one day a modern farm management sim similar to goo’ ol’ SimFarm from 1993. And not a combine-harvester driving simulator. I want to design and manage my farm and not do farm tractor racing, goddammit.Yes! It's cool that there are multiple farming sim games out there that let you run around on your farm (I just picked up Stardew Valley over Christmas and boy howdy am I hooked :D), but I want that Sim Farm experience of running it from a detached bird's eye view and having
Realistic racing game 'DRAG' coming to Linux soon, built on Linux and it looks astonishing

Interesting. I haven't really played racing games for years (though I played a lot of Star Wars: Racer as a kid), but this one looks beautiful and well-done. I'll definitely keep an eye out for when it releases.

Wow, a surprise update to one of my favorite games six years after it came out? (359 hours and counting) Nice!
While I can understand having difficulty on the normal or hard levels, I've got around a 90% win rate on easy and I don't think it's particularly difficult to achieve. Just remember that pause is your friend, carefully timing the firing of your weapons can boost your damage output considerably, and that the game's all about adapting to what you get and going with the flow rather than trying to force a particular loadout; all types of weapons have their uses and getting to know them all can give you a real advantage. Also boarding is overpowered; if you can consistently capture an enemy ship without destroying it you'll gain a small but noticeable boost in resources.
Also, use the doors Luke! :D

Quoting: HoriBtw, does anybody know when can I expect a sale for Stellaris DLCs? I'm missing two of them and I want to get them before starting to play it again (since I like playing long games on huuuge galaxies)I'd be pretty surprised if there isn't a sale on older DLC when the new one comes out.
I imagine there will have to be such a sale soon if they release a new DLC... right?

Trying to survive bigger predators attempting to eat you as a tiny defenseless fish with an unusual control scheme sounds like the opposite of relaxing, but maybe that's just me… :S:
Bridge Constructor Portal released with same-day Linux support, some thoughts

I've been enjoying it so far, though I've only had time to reach level 8 so far. The first couple of levels ease you in with tutorials, which is nice as someone who hasn't played a Bridge Constructor game before.
I like how while building everything's shown in a 2D view, but when you go to test it out the camera subtly shifts into a 3D perspective where you can pan around and zoom in on the little forklifts careening around the level. You can even pause at any time if you want to admire a particularly cool or funny scene. :) Especially in this 3D mode the game manages to capture a lot of the look and feel of the Portal universe, and everything looks pretty good. (The portals themselves could perhaps have stood to have a little more work put into them, but I can appreciate that they're not using the Source engine and recreating the look might have been more work than it's worth; and they don't actually detract much from the view, in my opinion.)
In terms of writing humor, well…it's no Valve dialog, but I have found myself chuckling now and then, and I appreciate that they actually got Ellen McLain in for the voice acting; it's a nice touch.

Edit: I just discovered that, for now at least, buying Bridge Constructor Portal also gives you the original Bridge Constructor for free. Just FYI. No info on how long it'll last.

Quoting: "liamdawe"[T]his is the first Bridge Constructor game I’ve actually played myself. I’ve never been too interested in them, but as a massive Portal fan I couldn’t pass this up.This is pretty much me; I've been aware of the series for years yet never interested enough to buy one, but I just picked this one up. They captured the art style pretty well in my opinion and it looks great. Can't wait to interact with all the zany Aperture Science devices (tonight, after work :()!
