Quoting: x_wingThe Android version is the bedrock version of the code, that's the platform they wrote it for originally.Quoting: GuppyWait, an APK? So it's running an android version? How do you know then that it uses Bedrock edition?Quoting: SeegrasIt's a git repository, you compile it and run it..Quoting: GuppyI guess that's not bedrock edition running on my Ubuntu desktop then, clearly you know better -.-'I still don't see anything like this in the links you posted.
It does require that you own the game and login to Google play so it automatically download the correct APK. All of this is explained on the page in the readme/wiki.
Not sure why you are beeing so difficult about it, I am not forcing you to play this edition or any thing..

Yeah it's an old version, like I said I've had a couple of rough months so I've barely had time to turn on my computer.

Quoting: SeegrasOh.. oh my mistake:Quoting: GuppyPersonally I prefer bedrock for two reasons;No. It's only the Launcher. The bedrock-version does NOT run on Linux.
1) Bugs are concidered bugs, they aren't kept ingame just because some whiney youtuber has built his channel around the bug.
2) It's available on so many platforms, and yes that includes Linux even if unofficially ( Old: https://github.com/MCMrARM/mcpelauncher-linux [External Link] , rewrite: https://github.com/minecraft-linux [External Link] )

The launcher is beeing re-written from scratch as I understand, but due to life happening I've not touched the project for a couple of months;

For mods, no it does not support that - it does have it's own mods tho, with an official modding API still being worked on.

Quoting: razing32It may not support Linux, but it runs on linux - much like some games will run on Linux using wine. Tho in my experience this is more stable;Quoting: ArthurSo let me get this straight, I am currently running the Java version on a server and on my desktop, but now I can run the so-called Bedrock Edition on my Linux server and desktop? Would I be able to run my old world on the new version just with a more interesting sea, and would it have the same features on Linux and Windows? I am a bit confused at the moment.Bedrock edition does NOT support linux.
Oh and I am also running a couple client-side mods, I guess those won't work anymore if I switch to Bedrock?
Also pretty sure it does not support any java based mods.
That's Microsoft for you.

Current conspiracy theories are that they are trying to bring the two versions enough in line that switching to bedrock wont be much of an issue for vanilla players, and at that point abandon the java version.
Personally I prefer bedrock for two reasons;
1) Bugs are concidered bugs, they aren't kept ingame just because some whiney youtuber has built his channel around the bug.

Quoting: skinnyrafI hope that the Bedrock Edition continues to have limited support for mods. Modding community is the main reason why the Java Edition still exists.They stated a few times now that the java edition will only be community driven - of course they then done the exact opposite by moving at least one developer from bedrock to java.
I can imagine that maintaining two so drastically different versions is quite expensive and Microsoft would prefer to stop development of the Java Edition. However, as long as modding and YouTube videos of heavily modded Minecraft are the main draw to Minecraft, we're safe.

The Underhollow, a Battle Royale-like mode for Dota 2 is live and it's damn fun

"Rogue" - refers to games with randomly generated play levels/dungeons and permadeath
"Rogue-like" - as above but some or levels are hand crafted ( and permadeath may be optional )
"Rogue-lite" - permadeath is not a thing or optional
The terms are just made up by game reviewers*, and they can't even agree amongst them selves what they mean so the above it just how I usually make sense of it rather than a hard and fast rule.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoWhat means "Battle Royale-like mode?:huh:Near as I kan tell "Battle Royal" refers to the game modes from quake era games that were called "Last man standing" or "King of the Hill"
Is like when you say "Rogue-like"... I don't understand the meaning.

Just for fun I went at looked up what the monthly minimum wage is - for an unskilled(untrained? no sure how to translate it) worker it is DKK 18.030,25 now ofcourse we have some of the highest income taxes in the world so that turns into about ( depending on deductibles ) DKK 10.000 which is about R$ 5900.
Of course any one pulling in minimum wage would struggle to pay for such a luxury item what with needing to pay rent, food, insurance, etc..
It's worth keeping in mind that a skilled and experienced worker pulls in significantly more ( enough that I at first assumed the above to be after taxes ), I'm sure that the same is the case in Brazil so hit those books it pays off in the long run ;)

Quoting: ewertonurias"lower prices too"?Converting local prices (DKK) to Reals it comes to an average of R$ 1700.
Omg... I'm Brazilian, our salary is R$ 1000, and a "GTX 1060 Galaxy 6GB 192Bits here costs R$ 1600.
Here practically everything is inaccessible.
Where do you live, it's also so expensive? Asking for curiosity.

Quoting: XpanderNah wont be this game, as a general rule if I want to play it on linux there is no chance in hell of a port xDQuoting: DisharmonicMy guess would be this https://store.steampowered.com/app/414340/Hellblade_Senuas_Sacrifice/ [External Link]this is actually pretty good guess. I don't know much about this game, but given its popularity and huge thread asking for Linux support + its an UE4 game and has very positive reviews, it should fit right in.
