Hardware maker 'Razer' has joined The Khronos Group to back open standards

This in contrast to OSVR - which is why that was mentioned in the article ( of course I'm not the author but I am guessing that is why ;) )

Quoting: drmothDon't forget Razer also make computer systems and laptops!Unless I am missing something here they dont "make" them they "assemble" them using other companies hardware - much like dell, so that's not any reason to join a hardware manufactures standardisation group.

What one game would blow your mind if it came to Linux & SteamOS?

At this point my mind is thoroughly blast proof when it comes to Linux ports.
But if Santa were to stuff Dishonored ( or shooting for the stars Dishonored 2 ) into the Linux stocking I'd be a very happy camper

The developers of 'Darksiders' comment on the Linux version, they couldn't fix the issues

Also if a company with no experience / prior Linux releases announces Linux support, you may as well get comfy with the thought that the port wont happen.
Most studios simply do not understand that unless planned cross platform from the start it's never going to work well - be it down to missing middle-ware, poor coding conventions or bad/missing build & test environments.

Quoting: DamonLinuxPLNever buy games when Linux port is not releasing YET. Vote wallet, buy only games with Linux support.A basic extension of the 'Never pre-order' rule, as if the port is not out yet your are basically doing just that.

Deus ex is 50% om Steam
As for the Steam hardware check your Local Game stop fitst, here at least click & collect is a *lot* cheaper
Almost considering getting a 2nd link, just not sure how easy it is to switch the controller's between links when they are in range of both

Any word on how they expect the udev rules to be updated for non beta?
While I'm comfy editing files and digging up group names it's the kind of "voodoo sorcery" that makes people shy away from Linux.

Quoting: tmtvlWait a minute... "sudo gedit"? That shouldn't work. Unless you've got sudo aliased to xdg-su, kdesu, gksu, or something like that.It will work fine - it's run from a terminal not alt-f2 so you can see the prompt.

Quoting: liamdaweDont know how widespread the issue is, but I am not alone;Quoting: GuppyHopefully they took their time to fix the issue where you have to remove your preference files every time you launch - it's getting a little tedious having to run across the house to delete files every time the kid swaps between games. That's weird, I've never had to do that.

If I were to hazard a guess I would say that Dishonored 2 and Call of Fanchise war are paid promotions, which is why they are still being displayed.
Bit annoying that you can only choose 3 tags to show fewer of - not even block, show *fewer* of. Still one can hope that adding visual novel to the list will stem the flood of crappy pixel boobs shovelware that keeps cropping up

Have you turned off MSAA ? ( it's in a different menu than the other graphical options )
Quoting: JahimselfI took me a while, but I finaly found settings to make the game look "okay" with "okay" average fps. I find it looking sharper than on ultra. (and it runs as fast as normal presets for me) Some effects are better on ultra, but you won't notice them that much while playing, and some of them I really don't like.
If like me you don't like the blurry and pixelated image caused by all FX used to give a photographic aspect to the game, you could try them and give your feedback:
-Texture Quality = Very High
-Texture Filtering (Anisotropic)= 8
-Shadow Quality = Medium
-Contact Hardening Shadows = Off
-Temporal Anti Aliasing = On
-Motion Blur = Off
-Depth of Field = Off
-Bloom = On
-Lens Flare = Off
-Volumetric Lighting = On
-Surface Scatering = On
-Cloth Physics = On
-Ambient Occlusion = On
-Tessalation = Off
-Parallax Occlusion Mapping = High
-Screenspace Reflections = On
-Sharpen = On
-Chromatic Aberration = Off
-Level of Detail = Very High
There might be a way to tweak it a bit more to improve quality without loosing fps.
Final Result:
Min: 28.2fps
Average: 45.2fps
Maximum: 69.7fps
Ultra settings was at 34.9 on average.
