A game I remember fondly from Ye Olde Gaming Days, and I didn't already buy the Windows version on Steam! :O
I do agree that SS2 is better, but the original is still a pretty mean little game.

Never, ever used a controller, but this little baby does look worth a try; considering the price, I hope you get what you pay for. If it can replace a mouse, well, I'll definitely give it a try (when I can afford it).

Not exactly gameplay, but it presents a gameworld that will probably be worth a closer look. Hadn't heard about it, which is what this site  is for, after all.
Overlord & Overlord 2 Coming To Linux, Two More Virtual Programming Titles

And, Another Game I bought in my dual-boot days is coming to Linux. I haven't played Overlord 2, but I did like the first one. Perhaps it'll be at some huge discount for both on release.
I'm also pretty happy with VP's wrapper for The Witcher 2, which I know is heresy for some people.

I've stayed away from CIV:BE, owing to the large number of negative reviews. Besides, I can get that old Alpha Centauri feel from (a) playing AC with wine, and (b) playing Pandora:First Contact, which is costs a hell of a lot less than CIV:BE, or did when released (I notice that CIV:BE is $29.95, down from $39.95 on release).
If it takes a non-free DLC to make the game playable, I say fie on that. Fie, I tell you. That's the province of free patches (see Wasteland: The Director's Cut, which will add a ton of new content, and which will be free on release to all owners of W2), not DLC, which is supposed to add more content and tweaks, not just to make the game playable.
Fie, I tell you.

Will wait and see; I like money too, of course.

Quoting: ungutknutThis reminds me of Reus.Just what I was thinking. It does look pretty frenetic, and it's tower defense (it says here), and RPG.

I got the EA version some months ago, and played for a bit, enough to see what it was, and, at the time, wasn't. Nonetheless, I haven't get back to it yet (so many games, so little time). Now I will.
Happy ending!

I must admit :( that I have bought Windows keys a time or two, but my major transgression was to have bought games for Windows in my dual-boot days  which then appeared in my Linux library: Borderlands 2, X-COM, Empire:Total War, Terraria, Bioshock Infinite, the Orange Box games, Torchlight II, and a few others which have slipped my slippery mind :D .
I have reformed and will nevah, evah buy Windows keys again ;) . Our platform is far too important to us to not support the devs who support our OS.
I have had some good luck with Kickstarter: Wasteland II, Pillars of Eternity, Planetary Annihlation (and PA:TITANS appeared in my library just for having been a Kickstarter supporter, which incensed Early Access purchasers, understandably), and War for the Underworld. I've also had at least one piece of bad luck: Akaneiro:Demon Hunters was more or less abandoned by the developer, with one person still working on it :S: , and it's still, if not beta, gamma, and is unfinished. You win some, you lose some.
A few Early Access games (Bastion  , Maia, Prison Architect, and Crest) I've had better luck with than other EA games.
BTW, Dungeon Crawlers HD, which just got a Linux version, is available for $2.49 (50% off!), and is much, much better than it needs to be at that price point. The dev can't be making a fortune off this little gem, but it certainly needs some sales, and TBS gamers should glom onto it Real Soon. At full price, it's a stone bargain, and that pittance is cut in half currently. Yes, it has some ham-handed Ghostbusters stuff in it, but I like that aspect of the game:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8SeP-oSGNA [External Link].
