Shadow of Mordor Nvidia Benchmarks On Linux
6 Aug 2015 at 9:52 pm UTC

650ti, AMD 8320E, 16GB, 352.30 drivers. I'm getting (at recommended-by-the-game settings) ~40-45 FPS, which is good enough for me. I'm looking to get a 960, which should be, shall we say, better. :D

Quoting: TheMagazineA 2.5 hour download according to steam =O Going to have to wait a bit longer then!
Pfft... I have to wait a day and 6 hours. -_-
I feel your pain; I have to wait until tomorrow (pension) to buy it. Thanks to Steam for making this a weekend sale ^_^ . They have a pile of other SteamOS (which they now call Linux games :><: ) games on sale this weekend :woot: .

And I know that there are Steam-haters on this board, but I do really, really like Steam. GOG is great, but Steam  has by far the larger selection, and also the swell Pixeluvo ;) graphics manipulator (a very good addition to GIMP, doing things a different way (similar to NIkon's nonfree software), and Blender is free on Steam, giving the devs a forum to listen to users. And I will put up with unobtrusive DRM (and my favorite game, Dominions 4, has a serial number that must be entered the first time--including the Desura :><: version), and Steam's is unobtrusive enough for me.

Which country? :O Basic, straight Ubuntu (or Kubuntu, or Xubuntu, or Lubuntu, Ubuntu MATE, etc. ) all have support, from the very first installation screen, for a raft of languages, from Afar and Akrikaans to Yiddish, Yoruba and Zulu ;) .

Just go to http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop [External Link], dude. You won't be disappointed.

It amazes me to see what Feral and Aspyr are doing for the Linux community, and life, as they say, is GOOD if you're a (very, very patient, over 7 years for me...) Linux gamer.

Thank YOU, Feral!

It is not released yet. It's still in Beta :)

To get the binary you have to go to the Games "Properties" and select the Beta in the Beta-Tab. After that it begins to download the game.
Aha! Thanks, and I'll try that right now ^_^ .

EDIT: Yes, it did work! Now I need to figure out how not to die in 3 minutes (I bought it on a sale and  never played it on Windows...
