The Funding Crowd Isn't Going Anywhere Either... If You Don't Let It

Quoting: fleskI'm pretty up to date on point-and-click adventure and platformer campaigns and wouldn't mind helping out in one way or another.
I must confess I wasn't expecting you to volunteer to help, being one of the most prolific article contributors of this new GOL era, but you're certainly welcome to the team!

Speedster and scaine have already done an excellent job explaining what does a TFC article entail, so I've got very little to add to it. If anything, I must agree with stan's first comment that browsing new gaming projects in KS and IGG is not the most user friendly of experiences. However Kickstarter allows you to sort campaigns by their release date, so if you remember your last connection date you can easily pick it up from where you left it (at least that's how I do it). Indiegogo is way messier though, as it only has the option of showing the campaigns that launched during the last 7 days (and it doesn't distinguish between videogames and other kind of games).

Anyway, this arduous job is usually done by me (or at least it used to be... I hope to get up to date soon :S: ), so volunteers shouldn't bother to look for new projects as the interesting ones would already be pre-selected as candidates in the corresponding wiki page.

GOL Survey Results: September

Great job, Segata! I've also taken the new survey. One thing, though: buying a game through the Humble widgets, does it count as a 'Humble Bundle/Store' purchase or as a 'Developer website' one?

Apart from that, I'm unpleasantly surprised to find out the Steam-objecting community constitutes less than 4% of the total. I knew we were a small bunch, but I never expected it to be SO small. :S:

Considering their scoring system, 3/4 is a truly remarkable score.

The Witcher 2 For Linux On GOG Has Been Patched

Quoting: ShmerlIt is available on Linux through Wine. Arguably, it's not any worse than using eON or any other way of translating Direct3D into OpenGL, especially if it works well.
Fair enough. :)

Correct, but this one isn't available on Linux, right? Or is there any FOSS implementation I'm not aware of?

Quoting: scaineThe only game I don't already own is Gunpoint, so I'll wait until next week to see if it's worth a punt (when the other games are announced).
I own everything except Gunpoint and Luftrausers. Well, and Prison Architect too. I was going to go for it anyway but then I remembered your rant about this particular game, so I'm also waiting till next Tuesday to finally decide.
Well, yeah, but take that rant within the context of which I ranted it - Alpha 13 or 14 maybe. It's (hopefully) come a long way since then.
I know, I know. :P

It's just that I was a bit disappointed at how many games I already own from this bundle (I bought SteamWorld Dig this very Monday, but it was heavily discounted so it's OK).

Puppy Games Aren't Impressed With Linux Sales (UPDATED)

I'd bet most of those $12k come from a Humble Weekly Sale [External Link] featuring all their games to date. I got that bundle and so I haven't felt the need to toss any more money to them.

I guess their next release will show nicer figures regarding Linux sales.
