The Cheapskate's Corner (May 22nd - 29th) (UPDATED)
27 May 2013 at 5:45 pm UTC

More clues have been trickling for Groupees Be Mine 8 bundle [External Link]'s last and awesomest mystery game. Let's recap them all:

1) Steam game with a Metascore >= 70

2) Light

3) Will

4) Man?

The game's cover image is being progressively revealed with each clue (I'm particularly intrigued about what could the lower right thingie be):

I've got a strong feeling that all this suspense will be fruitless in the end as the game will surely be Windows-only, but let us enjoy it while we can! ^_^

Quoting: kozecOn unrelated note, will be Deus Ex Machina 2 really available for Linux? I didn't found single mention of Linux on their Kickstarter page.
Yes, it really will be. I contacted Mel Croucher, the game creator, asking about Linux support and he replied a plain and simple «Yes!». And he did update the Kickstarter page clarifying the issue: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1552445321/deus-ex-machina-2#faq_59548 [External Link]

Quoting: Xpanderbtw whats the issue with paranautical activity?

it works out of the box for me (the level loading time is pretty big though, like 30 sec or so, its like in frozen state for a while)
OMG, you're right! I'm just too impatient, you see... although it was more like a whole minute for me, but it loaded the level at the end. :D
I kinda assumed that after the first screen (the 'Start' or 'Quit' one) there would be another one with more options and stuff.

I'm editing the article right now and I'll hop off to the Desura forums to say that everything's OK right afterwards.

Megabyte punch from Electro Games Will be on Linux also

Great! In the end that 95% became a full 100%. I'll finally be able to use the Desura key I keep from that bundle. :D

Rktcr coming soon to Linux, demo out now!
22 May 2013 at 8:24 pm UTC

I can see the video just fine on Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit. I think I'm gonna wait a bit longer before upgrading... :P

About the game, I got ahold of a demo some time ago (can't remember where from) and I rage quitted it after being unable to get a minimum semblance of control of the ship/rocket/whatever that is... I just guess I'm not patient enough for this game. :S:

Heavy Gear Assault heading to Linux
21 May 2013 at 4:33 pm UTC

I did contact them prior to adding the game to the wiki and they replied this to me:

Quoting: "Stompy Bot Productions"UE3 actually did support Linux but not many licensees took advantage of that. UE4 will support OpenGL and we plan to take full advantage of that with HGA!

Humble Double Fine Bundle launches, we were right!

For what it's worth, in southern Europe Halloween has only been around for a few years and it's mainly an excuse for grown-ups to party and wear slutty costumes. In spite of this, and being aware that I must've missed out on quite a few things, I've enjoyed the game a lot. :)

More games will be heading our way!
16 May 2013 at 11:05 pm UTC

Good job! ;)

Also don't forget the games that are coming to Desura for sure in a few days: Dominions: Priests, Prophets & Pretenders [External Link], Dominions II: The Ascension Wars [External Link] and Perfection. [External Link] (the last one will be available in just a few hours).

Plus there's this one, which is not coming to Desura but it's coming for Linux nonetheless: Rogue Legacy [External Link]. It looks GREEEEEAAAAAAAT!!! Please somebody write an article about it!!! :woot:
