Major Mayhem Coming to Linux
14 Feb 2013 at 10:01 pm UTC

Well, what the developer actually said is that he's currently working on another overdue project (which was due on January) and that he will start working on the Linux port shortly afterwards, but no estimated date was given.

Anyway good news, this is a little fun casual game. I had a good time playing it on my Android phone.

Looks interesting. :)

I've added it to the Gaming Wiki.

Desura and what annoys me
5 Feb 2013 at 10:54 pm UTC

Quoting: s_dI thought that the Desurium client RC1 already solved this by exposing 32-bit games to 32-bit client builds, and exposing 32-bit & 64-bit games to 64-bit builds.  Better ask Cheese, Liam!  He's all up in that
Interesting... I remember reading on Ubuntu Forums that Desurium lacked the ability to filter games according to your platform. I should definitely give it a try, then.

There's no way to change your selected platform on Desura's official client, right? Maybe uninstalling the 64bit client and installing the 32bit one? (just feeling too lazy to try it myself...)

For what it's worth, here's the complete list of 32bit-only games that don't show without tweaking your platform selection (13 in total):

· Battlemass
· Blue Libra 2
· CAFÉ 0 ~The Drowned Mermaid~
· Cube MetalHeart - Sauerbraten Extended
· Exodus Wars: Fractured Empire
· Incursion
· Livalink
· Revenge Of The Cats: Ethernet
· Running with Rifles
· Solar War
· Super Space Rubbish
· The Real Texas
· Zombie Grinder

Thanks, Hamish. Now I realize that I did actually read this article when it was published, but had forgotten completely about it. According to this, then, a native port of Paranormal is not to be expected on the near future.

Minor update
Both Dwarf Quest and Paranormal creators have spoken on their respective Greenlight pages about a possible Linux port of their games.

Wild Card Games, authors of Dwarf Quest, commented that they would look into Linux support if there's enough interest (as vague as that may sound).

On the other hand MattDementous, developer of Paranormal, said that he'll be porting his game to Linux as soon as the Unreal Development Kit supports our favourite OS.

PS: I thought that Dungeon Defenders uses the Unreal engine, and it was released on Linux as part of the HIB7. Was that a custom port of the engine specifically for this game in particular?

Psychonauts now available for Linux DRM-Free!

Quoting: HamishIt should be noted that HIB5 owners also have a new version up for download as of January 7. No idea if it fixes all of the performance problems, but most of the in-game and graphical glitches should be fixed. Will need to download it to give you guys more info.
Thanks for the tip, I had no idea! I'll warm up my BitTorrent client... :P

I sure hope this version solves the annoying glitches. If so, I might give it another go and try to finish the game (damn Meat Circus! ><)

Help us continue to be awesome and send us some love!

Liam, I see you already deleted all the spam pages on the wiki but you may have to reconsider some banning you did, because now I can't edit the crowdfunding page, nor create an account. When trying to do any of those things it says my IP has been blocked by DNSBL:

Your username or IP address has been blocked.

The block was made by DNSBL. The reason given is Your IP address is listed as an open proxy in the DNSBL used by GamingOnLinux.com Linux Games Wiki..
I'm connecting from Barcelona (Spain), and IIRC some of the junk pages were about holidays in Spain, so that could well be the origin of the spam.

Could you please do something to refine the ban so I can continue editing the wiki? If you need my IP or details about my ISP we can discuss it via PM. ;)

Thanks!
