Haque: Retro Roguelike RPG Requires Riches

Quoting: JudasIscariotDid someone say "roguelike"?
I'll take that as a sign of interest. :)

What I'd like to know is if it's purely personal or is there a chance GOG might be interested in this game?

The GOL Game Jam Is Really Happening Soon!

I wonder how much (if any) would that negatively affect participation, but I would've liked it more if the rules included developing the game on Linux. You know, as a way of showing that our OS can be as good as anyone else's for game development. Maybe a special category for those games that do get developed on Linux?

PS: Excellent initiative, by the way! Cannot wait to play the games that come out of the GOL Game Jam! :D

Quoting: fleskGoing over my older articles, I can't really figure out which you might be thinking of either, even though I suspect you're probably right. Could you be thinking of CO-OP: Decrypted, which I hadn't heard of until it was made available for Linux?
Yes! That's it!! I can see it was an article by Liam actually, that explains why I couldn't find it looking at your list of published articles.

Thanks for (partially) restoring my sanity! :D

Quoting: fleskI try to include a link when I cover a crowdfunded game I know has been mentioned on TFC, but I might have forgotten to look it up a few times. :S: Were you thinking of a specific game?
As a matter of fact yes, I was thinking of a recent article of yours in which you initially failed to mention the game in question had been covered in TFC, hence the teasing. But for the life of me I just can't find it, so either a) my memory is messier than I thought or b) I spotted the missing TFC reference when said article was still in draft mode and the exchange took place in private, and not in the article comments section.

Really hope it's b)... :S:

Quoting: fleskThe game was funded on IndieGoGo [External Link] almost two years ago, and was featured in The Funding Crowd 9 while the campaign was running.
I see you've done your research homework this time around, good boy. :P

Really looking forward to this one, and more so if it's coming DRM-free to GOG! I ended up not backing it on Indiegogo, and I can't remember why... :S:

The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief Now Available On GOG For Linux
27 Jul 2015 at 8:52 pm UTC

I've purchased this game both on GamersGate and on the Humble Store, only to obtain the same result: a blank screen. Will the third time be truly the charm if I get it again on GOG? Both the GG and the Humble builds are 4.4GB in size so this one seems to be different, and at this point I wouldn't mind a little graphical corruption at all :P (although I think I'll wait for a tempting sale)

SteamOS/Linux Version Of Gauntlet Cancelled

Quoting: LinasOh come on, if they want to say PC, let them have it. It is just as meaningless as the whole Linux vs GNU/Linux debate. Sometimes the distinction is important, but most of the time it is not.
In my regular skimmings through Kickstarter when updating the crowdfunding wiki I come by a lot of campaigns with ambiguous platform support statements like "this game will be available for PC". You'd be really surprised how many times the devs really mean "Personal Computer" (i.e. Windows+Mac+Linux) and not only "Windows".

So no, even if Steam does it, "PC" does not always equate to "Windows" and it can lead to confusion.

Luckslinger, A Fusion Of Hip-hop & Platforming Now On Linux, Some Thoughts

Quoting: kellerkindtThe link is kinda broken :P
Fixed it. ^_^

I downloaded and played the demo when this game was on Kickstarter, but I can't quite remember how the luck mechanic works... How do you gain/lose luck? Does it get used up little by little every time a lucky event occurs?

Quoting: ShmerlThat makes sense to me. If you don't have technical issues, why should they refund you? I can understand cases "I bought a wrong game by mistake", but it's very easy to abuse. If I were GOG, I'd make exactly the same refund policy as they did.
Great, have fun with your crappy and broken games. Me I’ll buy on Steam.
Broken games means you have technical issues. If your issues aren't technical, you games can't be broken. You contradict yourself.
Agreed, but you haven't addressed crappy games. With physical products, in most places you're entitled to a refund if said product doesn't live up to your expectations for whatever reason, so stan's expectation is not completely unreasonable. However it all gets tricky when digital goods are involved, and more so on GOG where DRM-free downloads are one of its foundational characteristics. Steam can more or less get away with it since after a refund you lose access to the game (and still the system can be abused quite easily), but I honestly cannot see any way GOG could improve its refund policy -- which is already very good and antedated Steam's by a long time.
