Well he is somehow right. People don't do anything about DRM stuff. As they don't about social media, programmed obsolescence, etc. and it's always a minority of people that fights for our rights either civil rights or as consumers. And yet, it is needed. And yet the devs need money to live. Difficult choices, but that's life. I'm pretty sure if you ask people they'll tell you they don't like DRM, but they have no other choices, it's more convenient. Steam is just too good : big sales, all your games easily accessible with ability to chat with friends with steam overlay.
I have played the game and finished it. It was an amazing game so I heavily recommend it. If as I could read he only "compiled a linux version with unreal engine", I got to say that it doesn't suffer from any bugs. Slow for some people ? Maybe, I can't tell.

For someone who played Diablo 2 a lot, there is no game to replace it currently. Ofc you'll find some of them with nice ideas like torchlight, poe or grimdawn, but in the end there's always something lacking.
Diablo 2 had an atmosphere that kept you playing it
Fights vs monsters were intense, it wasn't a beat them all and required you to think twice when going somewhere
The difficulty when reaching nightmare/hell was a thing, forcing you to go back, do some runs for better stuff
The quality of the drops and the diversity in the statistics of your items made it amazingly well balanced and funny. Drop rates in general was a bit too low, but it was still very enjoyable.
PVP was fun
Runs were always cool when done with friends
Community was very nice and welcoming
Trading was a pain in the ass, but was something I enjoyed doing a lot, and forced people to play together
To improve your characters you actually had to run and trade and meet new people, make some friends that can help you building your hero, trade, offer you help...
Rushing mates was funny to do
The trist-run to Baal-run during a saturday afternoon with a friend were one of the best thing I have done when I was younger, cause really entertaining and funny.
Nowadays games are too easy, choices are too easy to make, reaching highest difficulty is more a question of time than skill... I think you guys should stop searching. Game industry have moved on, games have other focuses. Diablo 2 was great because players were free to do what they want. Not a lot of games permits you that now.

The fact that it's available day 1 on every platform makes me wonder about how will be the linux sales for this game.
And more generally, how they are for games released day 1.
Is it something we can actually know ?

Star Citizen to use Vulkan instead of DirectX 12 and drop DirectX 11 eventually

That we talk about unity, cry engine or unreal, they all support vulkan (or plan too). I think that's a bigger game changer than the state of the market share.

Quoting: LeopardBut that movement must be fast because day by day people are migrating to Windows 10 from previous versions.Windows 7 is gonna be the next windows xp. A lot of people will stay on it because microsoft is doing shit with their new versions of windows. With the ads poping a little bit everywhere, the privacy issues and the fact people like the windows 7 UI are things that will make people stay on 7.
What do we have now;Windows 7,8,Linux,Android and Nintendo Switch. But assuming that Windows 10 market share will grow because of lacking security, feature updates at 7 and 8;the real game changer will be the next PlayStation if they decide to use Vulkan.

Considering the main game engines are working on making vulkan available + having a linux port, I expect the vulkan market to grow a lot in the next years. More than DX12 will.
That game developers consider seriously vulkan is an awesome news. Maybe rockstar and blizzard will follow

Faeria since I saw the article here, and I have to say thank you, because I really enjoy it. It seems a bit more blanced compared to hearthstone.
It can be improved a lot and I think it needs a a bit more cards, but it's still nice and young.

Today I had the first steam survey on linux. After... 2 or 3 years, I don't remember exactly.
They should start to make a survey with more people.
