it's a game that would be ported to mac and linux, they tought about not porting it to linux, the mac port would come first, now they decided to bring it to the radar again, and there's just the linux port left.
Not a fan of racing simulators, but it's clear it's F1 2017, hope you guys enjoy it, i will be waiting for TR, doom nier, or something like this. anyway, good to have a port near day 1 on linux.

wondering what comes next from feral, feral's radar is basically empty, there's just grid autosport for mobile there (and it's been there for a long time), the last "UFO" they teased for linux isn't there anymore, their last ports to linux have been games that target a relatively specific public (Racing or RTS), i hope they engage in something more similar to what they've done in the end of the last year with deus ex, mad max, tomb raider and life is strange. And i hope they keep porting the sequels of the franchises they've started to port (like tomb raider)
EVERSPACE is finally nearing a release on Linux, initial release will be under the radar

i'm pretty happy to see how EVERSPACE's developers spent their time into making a good linux port, i will take a look at the game.

Quoting: TheRiddick"issues with Unreal Engine", say no more, say no more friend.i develop a game in my free time, as i have empathy with linux i've put a lot of time making a linux build, but the "click to package" button doesn't work with a click, you need to install a cross-compiler then download the engine source code and compile, the documentation about it is very poor, you can also package through linux but it didn't worked the way i expected when i tried to, plus packaging to linux takes something around 6 hours while to windows takes 30 min, to tell the truth, if the engine "bug's" at porting the game then i have no idea of where to start removing the bugs, to this point my linux builds works but i have some problems maybe related to MESA, not sure, i have a r9 270 the game doesn't work on Antergos or in Ubuntu that i have in my pc, the screen just goes black and then the computer turn off (what is a serious bug), but it works if i try to run it from the live boot of my antergos pen drive.
Unreal Engine will probably work for %50 of the way to getting a port on Linux working, the other 50% of the work will be up to the developer, which is allot to ask. The opensource amdgpu kernel driver should be more compatible these days then the pro driver, but we will see.

i've talked to feral in facebook:
me:
hi folks, i've noticed one of the ports you were teasing for linux ( "west norwood" ) is not in your radar anymore =/ is it some bug in the radar or actually you guys had a problem and there's not a new linux port (beyond xcom's dlc) coming for now?
feral:
"The Feral Radar is notoriously unreliable. We'll turn it off and turn it back on again. Maybe that will fix it."

Valve limit key requests from developers if it isn't "worth the cost"

i'm pretty sure steam is still one of the platforms giving more freedom in keys for developers.

Quoting: Guestyeah it brings costs to steam, you're using it's infrastructure, hard to tell how much it costs exactly, you got a good point saying they allow free content, they have their reasons to allow free content, i don't know how exactly it helps them, but it's easy for anyother platform sell a steam key cheaper than steam, because they don't have to pay the infrastructure, they're using steam's for free. Seems fair to me.So at some point we start deciding that the value you're bringing to Steam isn't worth the cost to us.What cost are they talking about here? Valve didn't made that particular game so Valve invested 0 money in that particular game. Valve only take a % from the game sales. There are basicaly 0 costs for Valve (Steam will run even if every single developer will decide to no longer sell on Steam because Steam is needed for Valve games).
They allowed free games on Steam. They get 0 money from those free games and yet those games use Valve infrastructure.
i'm pretty sure steam is still one of the platforms giving more freedom in keys for developers.

The recent Linux port teaser from Feral Interactive seems to be coming to Mac first now

they probably profit more from mac than fron linux, but at least we can conclude that it's a game that still don't have a mac version, and i hope it's something big, the last UFOs didn't take so long to come.

disappointed, personally don't like card games, i've played yu-gi-oh for a long time, but i have no patience for card games anymore, when they said they were working on a new game i didn't expect half life 3, but i was hoping for something that i could like.

Ubisoft embracing linux support would be cool, even though i'm not a real fan from ubi, so AC would be a good milestone too, but i would like to mention the "Lego Harry Potter", Harry Potter - London, this:https://www.facebook.com/feralinteractive/photos/a.121305254560653.15582.118120444879134/1568517619839402/?type=3&theater
