that's great, also i want to mention, unreal engine just released version 4.14 today, and now should support packaging from linux to android (until now the only target platform from the linux editor was linux), i've not tested it, but it's great too.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided patch release for Linux, enables Breach mode

Quoting: GuestI see the patch notes say "Improved overall performance for DirectX 11 and 12"; does it translate to performance improvements in the Linux version?
i don't think so, there's no dx on linux (captain obvious), but if it's a dx improvement it probably was made by eidos on dx specifically, and maybe feral didn't even include any of those changes in the linux version at all.

Developer of 'Steam Marines' talks sales, Linux represented 2% over the lifetime of it

he said 3% of mac users represents 50% of his support issues, 2 options: he have a problem with his mac version or mac users are quite annoyng.
but 2% for linux even after being launched 1 year after the windows version is quite a good number actually.

Quoting: Comandante oardoAre they pairing an Intel Core i3-4130 with an AMD FX8350 processor??
maybe they don't have an equivalent CPU for the i3, or maybe for some reason amd CPUs are worse than in other games, sometimes it's kinda weird, bethesda said recommended is a "i7 4xxx or 8350" for dishonored 2 for example, but in theory if a i3 4xxx is enough, a fx 6300 should be enough too.

Marek has sent in another Mesa commit to help improve OpenGL performance, using threading

just a noob question: how to update mesa drivers? i need to recompile kernel or something like this or it's kinda automatic in updates like the ones from ubuntu update center.

Feral have released the minimum and recommend system requirements for Mad Max on Linux
18 Oct 2016 at 3:29 pm UTC

these CPU requeriments are kinda high considering it's a "well optmized" game for windows, i have a fx 6300, hope it's enough because i'll probably buy it anyway.

AMD Zen looks like it will release at CES in January 2017
11 Oct 2016 at 10:46 pm UTC

i have a fx 6300 and it's more than enough for my games and general use, but i use unreal 4 and it sometimes ask more than my poor fx 6300 can do, i need to upgrade, but it looks like they will only launch a enthusiast high end cpu and APUs, and i don't have money for this, plus i live in brazil, hardware here is expensive as fuck, for example, a rx 480 8gb should cost 229 dolars, but here it costs from R$ 1400 to R$ 1600 (something around U$ 450)

Mesa patches greatly improve Bioshock Infinite performance for the RadeonSI AMD driver

Quoting: veccherglad to see the open driver evolving they're my only hope.
Actually support in amdgpu for Southern Islands GPUs will come soon-ish and with that support for the amdgpu-pro proprietary driver.

I've tried the (highly) experimental code that's been released so far and my HD 7970M can play csgo and xonotic fine with the amdgpu open source stack. Bioshock crashes the amdgpu kernel driver though. And power management is still bugged and doesn't work so everything is pretty slow. But it's largely ready.
actually there is support for ubuntu 15.04 and 14.04 (for r9 270) but even with official support it didn't work, there are 2 ways to install the "radeon crimsom", downloading a 170mb zip file and installing (tried it in 15.04) and dowloading a .deb for ubuntu (tried it in 14.04 and also failed)
