Baldur's Gate 3 gets a Native Linux version to improve it on Steam Deck

@Alm888
"…more stable framerate, lower loading times, and smoother gameplay…"

WHAT? I've read time and time again about devs ditching Linux version in favor of Proton©®™ for "better performance" left and right. And now I've read this. Where is the truth?
As you’ve probably read in the article already, the process of porting the game to Linux involved making changes to how "the game models are streamed on all platforms". In other words, they optimized their own existing software, which says nothing about native vs. Proton performance in general. Presumably, performance also improved on Proton. According to Voron00 above, they still get a slightly higher FPS using Proton.

One thing I do feel is missing is a clearer way to see how much damage you're going to deal or be dealt, especially versus how much health each enemy has.
There’s an option in the settings to show enemy health, so you can at least pick your targets accordingly since you know how much damage your own attacks deal.

Valve announce language-specific user review scores for Steam games

Very nice. I've seen a few instances of indie games outsourcing localization to untrustworthy companies and getting flak for it, leading to bad reviews overall in the critical post-release window. Having negative reviews be limited to the poorly translated languages will help them notice these issues and not be penalized for it sales-wise in other languages.

And of course, for consumers, it makes it easier than looking for reviews mentioning this specifically.

itch.io to reindex free adult content as they search for new payment processors

@Kimyrielle
But Stripe did say it was them. Forced by their banking partners, but it’s them nonetheless refusing to serve adult content transactions. Unlike Mastercard saying they haven’t imposed any restrictions.

Re: Your corporations facilitating and profiting from rape, incest and child sexual abuse game sales
Note how it isn't mentioning fictional themes; it is directly accusing payment processors of profiting from actual abuse with real victims.
I believe they mean sales of games containing (themes of) rape, incest and child sexual abuse (i.e. "rape, incest and child sexual abuse game[s]" treated as one unit with several modifiers before the noun; "game sales" isn’t separate from the rest), but they certainly took some syntactic shortcuts saying it.

My only real concern is with who controls the kernel. Beyond that, we can always fork away from corporate takeovers. (Technically we can fork the kernel too, but the pool of potential, skilled maintainers shrinks dramatically at that level.) Just look at Google's Android and how many other mobile OSes have emerged to provide alternatives true to libre values.

I will be getting Tactical Breach Wizards (Proton only) and a native Linux point & click or two, likely Elroy and the Aliens. That should be plenty for the summer, plus I haven't finished PoE 2: Deadfire yet and we've been spoiled for demos lately.
