It just keeps getting worse - Firefox to "evolve into a modern AI browser"

browsers I've found that don't seem to have AI plans.

https://ladybird.org/ [External Link] (c++, new rendering engine, in progress, founder may be sketchy)

https://www.falkon.org/ [External Link] (kde, qtwebengine)
https://apps.kde.org/konqueror [External Link] (kde, qtwebengine)

forks of firefox
https://www.torproject.org/download/ [External Link] (says they'll remove AI, intended to be used with Tor)
https://mullvad.net/en/browser [External Link] (fork of tor browser, but can connect to regular internet via VPN)

I'm not sure what's up with chrome/chromium based forks.

I haven't really tried the KDE options in a while, epiphany was able to log into some work websites that used duo for 2 factor.

"Application is not responding" pop-up.
Hmm, it might be a matter of seeing if there's anything more we can optimise in terms of front-end loading. Not trivial, but certainly possible. That said, if it's happening before you see any splash screens, then our hands will be tied there. Anyway, something for us to look at.
It looks like GNOME expects an application to respond to a ping event periodically, I always assumed the "Application is not responding" message showed up when an application was too busy with something else to check it's event loop.

The two functions in the window manager that lead to triggering the warning dialog start here. This is the ping function, and the one that responds to the pong event is just after.

There's also apparently an option for end users to increase the timeout if they want.

And also thank you for trying to work with the linux gaming community to help make sure your game works well.

Paradox announce Cities: Skylines 2, plus a The Sims-like game and more

I thought the Lamplighter League looked pretty neat and has good chances for a Linux build. Age of Wonders 4 also looked cool but the system requirements page just lists windows, so I'll have to wait to see how well it works with proton.

I was already looking forward to the stellaris expansion, and thought the after the aftermath DLC looked promising.

Though that does suggest we might start seeing a larger share of Linux family steam users as Steam for ChromeOS gets to be more popular.
Except that ChromeOS is not actually Linux despite having the Linux kernel.
ChromeOS is not a community based free & open source desktop, but it's "technically" linux.

The claim is technically true, but in a deeply obnoxious and irritating way for those of us who want free desktops.

Here's how to mod Stardew Valley on the Steam Deck

My not Linux using spouse got a Steamdeck and had some trouble following the text description, though the video was much more helpful.

Users new to the steam deck might need some guidance on how to get to desktop mode and not have much familiarity with the Linux desktop tools.

Apparently this page is pretty high in the google rankings for "how to mod Stardew Valley on the steam deck" so might be getting people who are not regular gaming on Linux readers.

Valve catches a break in the Steam Controller patent trial versus Ironburg

Was it patent trolls that took the steam controller off the market, and not poor sales?

It's good the game is doing good and it is a good game, but to be on the very top of the charts while still being EA?
I haven't played it, but I've seen that there are a lot of streamers/influensers on social media praising it. I'm sure that has something to do with it's sudden popularity.
Friend mentioned that they were interested in it because "Call me Kevin" had been streaming it a bunch.

Thanks everyone...

I guess I'd been assuming that if they had a new platform they'd have stopped maintaining the old one.

Are people using the Java version on Linux, or is there some way of getting the Bedrock edition to run via some kind of compatibility layer? The one I found says it doesn't support the latest version.
