I got the game back in 2020 during a steam promotion but have yet to install the game as I am waiting for the Linux version to release before playing. This was after the Linux announcement so should count as a Linux sale.

As for the enhanced edition I wont be playing anytime soon as I am unable to buy any GPU's at Scan, Overclockers, ETC as all out of stock and not even listing prices. Its been this way for months now and have basically given up and will now be boycotting all these stores going forward for all future products as foul play is clearly going on with these retailers.

Brought this game yesterday. have not played it yet due to time constraints.

This kind of style game does not usually appeal to me but took a punt on it anyway due to overwhelming hype and a cheap asking price, but most importantly it supports linux.:smile:

hopefully the linux sales numbers are good.

Look forward to giving this game another try again soon now it has vulkan as I have not played this for a long time. Currently glued to Satisfactory atm:smile: so will play this one next.

I will check this out and see if they ship to UK. I really need a high end reliable laptop that just works under Linux. If it has decent Cooling,CPU and GFX then I am all in if the price is reasonable.

I may just get rid of my Acer Predator AMD/Vega Laptop as its been a complete letdown under Linux due to AMD's horrible driver stack of which I have been waiting over 1 year for a fix. I get constant no AC power issues and GPU crashes with it so its impossible to game with under Linux. Will NEVER buy Acer products again, Ever.

I got this laptop because AMD was supposed to be better than NVIDIA. Please dont believe the hype.

Why is it so difficult to understand that we are small fish in a very large ocean and AAA devs will not support us until we increase our marketshare. Proton will greatly help windows user to migrate over to Linux when they choose to as this will enable them to keep access to their games library. No one wants to loose a ton of games so this issue MUST be addressed first in order to gain marketshare.

Buying windows games through steam count as a linux sale so any sales analyst will see that (X) number of sales were from Linux users and this could influence their decision to support linux going forward if sales were high enough.

As long as you follow some simple rules then you will be helping Linux to grow.

1. Always prioritise Linux games first.
2. Only buy Windows games at a discount and play them via steam after checking proton db for their rating.
3. leave a message on their forum asking politely for a Linux port or Proton support.
4. Try to help new Linux users where possible.

I have dropped £60 this week on Games/DLC and now a steam sale appears.:sick:

Guess I have no option but to check out the wishlist which has 100 games on it.

I didn't know they were so cheap

I have never used one but I may now look into getting one to use as an emulator at those prices. I have also seen a few sweet custom cases on YouTube that are build to fit so may get one of these also.

The biggest issue with any PC exclusive is that the game in question is locked to a specific launcher. If I could use any launcher or no launcher at all to download and play the game then the affect would be minimal. With EPIC for example, All Linux users are locked out before even entering the gates.

Back in the day you would buy a game on disk so you were not reliant on store fronts. Once you had the game in your possession you were free to do as you wish whereas now you are relying on a launcher to just play the game.

with the recent events with EPIC and Canonical as well as all these new steaming services appearing I am reviewing my purchasing habits as I have grave concerns that I may soon loose access to a lot of my games. If SHTF I will have no option but to sail the high seas and try to salvage every game that I own to archive which at present is nearly 400 games. I really don't want to have to deal with that.

We do need competition in the marketplace and I welcome it but I would ask all publishers to play fair and put the gamers interest first. Why not work together to create a free, open and universal store front and share the burden in exchange for a lower cut.

Correct me if I am wrong but surly freezing the library would make it impossible to use newer GFX drivers.

I plan to upgrade my ryzen desktop CPU soon and may consider Navi GPU further down the line. How am I supposed to get the latest drivers if the packages are frozen?

So I see this is the first step in the eventual backtrack however the damage has already been done. I have removed Ubuntu from my laptop and put Manjaro on it for now until Valve decide what to do next.
