The developers of 'Ticket to Ride' have abandoned Linux support for their game
28 Mar 2017 at 1:58 pm UTC
I have tried setting the game to download the linux beta but this did not work. I may have a linux download of the game on another hard drive but will need to investigate.
I am open to developer/valve offering a solution to this problem though but my patience is running thin as I have been unable to play this for sometime now.

Quoting: constAfter doing some further investigation it appears that I would face an uphill struggle to get a refund as I brought this particular game in October 2012. This was before I moved to the linux platform so I am not sure if linux/steam os was supported at this time.Quoting: finaldestJust checked in my library and its no longer showing under Linux. Cannot install the game.As stated above: Just today, I was able to install and play this game through steam.
I may just (for the very first time) request a steam refund.
Please, don't let us be a community to flame and point fingers before clarifying. Give those guys a chance to fix things and politly inform them that you have issues if you have issues.
It was clearly not their plan to delete the game from every linux users library. They just decided to not add new dlc for us. All other problems did probably happen by accident, so give them a chance to fix it while staying the good guys that ported their game long before gaming on linux got close to 1% user base.

Just got my new Ryzen setup up and running. Has some memory and bios issues at first but all is now good.
Installed malware 10 first to test hardware performance and I ave now just installed the latest Manjaro and updated to the latest kernel.
Manjaro would not install unless I chose the "non free" driver option but overall installing Linux on Ryzen was a breeze and only took 10 mins to install unlike on Skylake.
for those that are interested here are my specs.
Ryzen 1800x
Asus CH6 Mobo
Vegence LPX 3000mhz Ram
GTX 1070
Very impressed with Ryzen, but its now time to start testing some games.

This is a really bad idea.
If I own a particular game it makes no diffrence what so ever if the game gets ported at a later date as I can still play the game on the OS that it was released for so why would I purchase the game again.
If I already own the game then the porter is out of luck, However if I dont own the game then I am now a potential customer.
This is not the same as Consoles vs PC but even Microsoft are now starting to allow Xbox players to play on PC as even they see the benefit of cross platform play.
I would happily pay say £5 extra for a game at release that had cross platform support on day 1 but other than this its a definitive NO and I would seriouly consider giving up PC gaming entirly if games were to split.
The whole point of porting games to other platforms is to reach a wider customer base and thus get more game sales and not to milk customers for more money.

Once Vega is out then I will look at moving back but for now I am waiting for my Ryzen stuff to turn up. I am waiting on the motherboard so when its all in stock it will be shipped, hopefully tomorrow.
As long as the driver stack is performing near to Nvidia and the Vega linup offers a big enough boost over my GTX1070 then I will bite the bullet and change to AMD for the GFX card also. So far its looking quiet promising.

An excellent review and I agree that the performance is excellent for a Feral port.
Not long finished downloading so had a few quick races. This game is seriously challenging and I also spent more time in the ditch or on my roof than on the road.
I can see myself spending many hours playing this so I now think its time to invest in a wheel.

This is excellent news.
Will wait for reviews and then order a 1800X if all goes well. I will be opting for a complete build so will likely drop around 1k on this Ryzen setup so want to make sure this will last atleast 2/3 years.
I am currently running a 4770k so just want to compare single threaded results prior to purchase.

This is great news.
So we now have Dirt Rally, Civ 6 and Hitman that are due to be released. I have never played any of the Hitman games so I am really looking forward to playing this one. I guess I will soon need to book a week of work.
2017 is shaping up to be a great year for us linux folks. Would just like to say thanks again to the folks at feral for their hard work.
