Quoting: pete910Quoting: TheRiddickwaiting is not such a issue since people are saying that X4 still needs some polish and balance etc..That's the exact opposite from what I've been reading on forums :dizzy:
Reading the views of people with proper game time has made the pain waiting even worse.
Quoting: pete910I actually think both are true. With light gameplay, it's pretty flawless, but the deeper you get in, and the more complex your empire, I think problems crop up. So, again, waiting probably isn't so bad, especially since apparently more multiplayer options are coming...Quoting: TheRiddickwaiting is not such a issue since people are saying that X4 still needs some polish and balance etc..That's the exact opposite from what I've been reading on forums :dizzy:

Quoting: GuestHmm... Helium Rain or X4?Both! They're actually very different games, both excellent in their own way.
Talking point: What are you playing this weekend?

Impressed by the diversity of what everyone is playing. For me, it's:
- Rocket League (Native)
- Allspace (Native)
- Hypergate (Native)
- Angels Fall First (Proton)
- Clone Drone in the Danger Zone (Proton)
Also, shout out to whoever was using GCompris. My kids (1st and 3rd grade) can still always find something there they love.
Question to all: My kids both play chess, and chess.com seems fine, but is there a great Linux chess program out there somewhere?

Otherwise, though, I'm incredibly excited about this title. Reviews, even with bugs, have been terrific.

Seriously, this is an excellent title, and you have any remote interest in the genre, you should buy it!
Insurgency: Sandstorm should still release for Linux this year

Quoting: Doc AngeloThe game seems to be quite good, but this is nothing to be happy about as a Linux gamer, especially if you bought it because of the statements that were made before. I'm not sure why this is portrayed as something positive. It's the typical "not yet, but maybe later" game. Especially if the entity who is doing it "hopes" it will come, it's a pretty negative sign. What are they hoping for? Does that mean they are not in control of it? Maybe just unfortunate wording? Or not?I agree, not super encouraging, which is a shame as it's one my most anticipated titles of this year. The Windows version has gotten excellent reviews... Hopefully they firm our Linux situation up a bit more...
"It's coming" isn't what I see in their words.

This just dropped! Shows a lot of promise, especially as a F2P. Dev has a very realistic sounding 1 year roadmap to full release in the early access. Go try it out and thank them for Linux support!
Lutris has a third beta available for the big 0.5.0 release

And not using it because it uses CSD (I presume you mean client side decorations)? Um, ok, your choice.
I personally use Lutris quite a bit. It is perfect? No. Are there bugs here and there? Sure. But I have always found both the app and the enormous contributions of its dev (Wine-staging) and community (all those install scripts and super friendly and helpful Discord channel) to be invaluable to the Linux gaming world. I back them on Patreon and recommend others do as well.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPI'd use it if it wasn't Linux only. While I get your reasoning (and like cross platform apps as well), this has to be the first criticism I've seen in the Linux world aimed at an app for being a Linux exclusive. Wow!
As it is, Lutris is almost as useless to me as that Windows-only equivalent (forgot the name).

I'm almost tempted, however, to follow that guy's blog just to wait for the inevitable, "I've had it with Windows 10! It's made me so angry! I'm going to Mac OS, where things just work!" :)
That said, if all he cares about is playing first-day-of-release, AAA gaming, then Windows 10 is probably where he should be...

Quoting: EhvisA few times a day I'm forced to use Windows 10, and it drives me crazy too, but thankfully I'm able to spend 95% of my day using most of my work/professional apps via Citrix remote on my laptop with Manjaro KDE.Quoting: BoldosHe quit Linux to the world where things "just work"... and then identifies that world as Windows 10?I had a grin with the win10 thing as well. If there is anything at work that tries my patience, it's win10. Oh well, everybody can choose what they're comfortable with. Even if others don't understand.
Really??!
