Oh darn, really unacceptable where they save the game files. Try telling anyone with a sophisticated file sync and backup setup it is a minor issue... Now it is lucky that gamepad support is fixed, since I would most likely play this on my SteamOS machine anyways and admittedly there the save location won't be an issue.

I have one good thing to share about this game. I have personally worked with the developer and made sure the save file location follows the XDG Specification. He was very grateful and even gave me free beta access as a thank you and to help him further test the game under Linux.
EDIT: Correction it would seem I mixed this up with Soul Saga, another game of the same genre (Kickstarted both) that also will release soon.

Regarding who would develop this port. Does anyone know who made the Outlast port, which was also featured in a Humble Bundle? Outlast and this game is made in the same engine by the same studio.
Therefore it would not surprise me if this port is made the same way as Outlast. No matter who does it, if it will be anything like the Outlast port it will be native, have great gamepad support and perform great.
Unfortunately though, I too won't dare enjoy any of this. :P Maybe with a friend present?
EDIT: Okay, it would seem the engine completely differs and the developers too it appears. Very confusing since I have in fact seen an interview with the developers of this game, which seemed to indicate otherwise. Oh well, no big deal.
And kellerkindt, you beat me to it (same link and all) :)

Opinion: Can Linux Be A Viable Gaming Platform? Thoughts From A Sympathetic Game Developer

This must surely be one of the most pragmatic, rational and well written articles (from the other point of view) that I have ever read. That alone should receive credit & respect in my opinion. Then to find myself agreeing with most of, if not everything, is just a great bonus.
As a side note. I just want to point out two of the main issues I see with people blindly claiming bundling libraries would solve everything. I do recognize there being real advantages, but still here are my thoughts:
- First of, the (L)GPL, if I interpret the license correctly (read it many times), may not allow you shipping your game this way. Sure you could try to use dependencies without copyleft but I don't imagine thing to be that simple. If it were, then more developers would already have done it.
In fact, if I remember right, was this not an issue once with the game "Game Maker Tycoon" way back? I vaguely remember the FSF reacting strongly there.
- Because of first point I would then assume, even if you bundle everything possible (license allowing), you could never prevent something like GCC5. Because, as stated above, I don't think the license allows for bundling this with your proprietary game.
If I am wrong about the GPL btw, please provide me with a proper reference and explanation. I would love to be wrong, because then I can (within reason) continue to advocate bundling.

7 Days to Die Completely Broken For Mac & Linux

It is too bad I backed it on Kickstarter for 4 copies. I don't know what is worse, this, or not getting a promised port at all. I almost think I prefer no port at all because then they have no excuses.

Quoting: kon14Wow, Facepunch finally considers us to be citizens now? :SWell said!
Quoting: liamdaweThe problem now, is it appears all testing on Linux (and Mac) has stopped. Proof is in the pudding with Alpha 12 being completely broken on both platforms. Here's what it looks like right now:In my opinion there never were any true testing to begin with. I have not tried the later Alpha builds but all initial ones instantly crashed on my system. So I have always considered this game broken & undelivered.

A Look At Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Scandinavia Expansion

Again, as someone else already mentioned. Finland is not a part of Scandinavia, "in the strictest sense". Scandinavia includes Sweden, Denmark, & Norway. Reasons for this is mostly historical, ethnically & linguistic similarities.
There is another name though if you include Finland, Iceland & a few minor islands. In Sweden we call that "Norden", which I suppose you could translate into the The North, or something, if you insist.
Oh, and we love to tease the fins :P I kid!

If this is anything like Mark of Chaos, which really were exactly this (and kinda had a better video), it is an instant sale with me. Also now personally curious if Tzeentch (The Lord of Change) has any special role to play?
Btw, this is extra special for me. Clue, guess from where my alias were inspired; Asvar Kul, anyone?

Star Ruler 2, A Massive Scale Strategy Game, Here's My Thoughts

Regarding StarDrive2, if you were referring to the 33% loading freeze, a guy on the Steam forums found that the root of the issue was locale related. If you add "LANG=en_US.UTF-8 %command%" to the game's launch options under properties (in Steam) that fixes the issue. As for why and how, no idea. Especially confusing since my system wide locale is set to en_US.UTF-8 already...

I'm sorry but incorrect storage of game data, not shipping mono with the game, and being generally unstable? I wonder how many of those top buyers are happy with this?
In any case I am very grateful for this information. As always it makes it easier for me to make an informed decision ^_^
