I donated a whooping 70$ and did enter GamingOnLinuxFan as name for top 20. Unfortunately it says 70$ Anonymous on the top of their list; I was sure I had unblocked all those pubnub javascripts. Oh well, I raised the Linux Average at least :)

Lots Of Big Games Confirmed For SteamOS, Torchlight II Now Out, Payday 2, Mordor And More Coming Too

Just sharing if others have not already done so.

Rome II Total War was announced November 2013. promised for early 2014. I bought into it and feels it is kind of an insult that they announce it again like this, as if nothing was ever promised. Even so, I do like to see they have not forgotten about us.

Pre-orders for Cities: Skylines Stand At Nearly 2% For Linux Gamers

Now what I really would want to know is how and if they count sales on the Paradox site. I am especially concerned since I might have been a bad boy and ordered on my Chromebook, which I suspect few sites count as Linux...

Oh, and yes I never really pre-order any more. But I kind of fell on the hype train this one time. The first games I owned included the Sim City/Sim series/genre, and they were easily among my favorites.

Happy Steam sale shopping everyone :D
Good choice :) I have played Tropico 5 for 75 hours now. So far the game runs really good on GNU/Linux and it's really fun - definitely recommend it ^_^
It is so addictive... I have almost cleared the whole campaign and am looking forward to try besting my friend in multiplayer.

Quoting: KelsApparently the Mac version is now out. So 2-3 weeks will easily get us the game before the holidays.

Although how GameAgent is handling the pre-ordered codes is kinda weird. I ordered the Linux one, but they're telling me the code is available now. I assume it's the same for both.
Yeah I accidentally activated my game without checking first, because of the GameAgent email. Now I feel it's a race with the statistics. At least my money is counted and distributed correctly though.

Frozenbyte's Platformer Splot May Not Come To Linux It Seems

Btw thanks to the one who put Splot in there, perfectly formatted.
Oops, sorry... I obviously wasn't checking my formatting as well as I should have been... I went on a bit of a rampage and added similar sections to a few pages where Linux support was promised for Marmalade games and maybe I was a little cavalier with the proof-reading.
No problem, I fixed it. What you forgot was "title=...". I also added the accessdate property, which is a best practice. Otherwise if there is a conflicting change it would be hard for you to claim anything.

Quoting: AsavarTzethI have added a Controversy section on the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marmalade_(software)" target="_blank">Wikipedia page&lt;/a&gt;, citing 22cans and their Project Godus, which also uses Marmalade, despite reaching the Linux stretch goal.
There is a problem with your [11] note (just after the word "unclear";).
That is actually not my doing, as far as I know. In any case I will fix it. Btw thanks to the one who put Splot in there, perfectly formatted.

I have added a Controversy section on the Wikipedia page [External Link], citing 22cans and their Project Godus, which also uses Marmalade, despite reaching the Linux stretch goal.

If anyone so wishes, feel free to complement this or otherwise improve this. If you find a good reference or have more information than myself regarding Splot, The Humble Weekly Sale, and Linux support please fill it in as a second example.

7 Days To Die Finally Has Hope For The Linux Version

One of the few games my friends play and I cannot join. Even worse, it was my recommendation and my 4-pack that got it into their hands in the first place.

GODOT: The Open Source Engine Behind The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça & Pizza Boy

Indeed, this is a good philosophy to follow, not simply because of the concept of giving back to the community, but because being on top of and constantly using the software eliminates some of the downsides which open source unfortunately has - such as the incredibly messy code bases found in projects like OpenGL.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I would like to point out that OpenGL is not really open source, as we know it. It is simply an open standard, a specification and a hardware API.

It includes several different implementations and it is incorrect to call them all equally "messy". If anything OpenGL is "messy" because they have lacked focus and had to think of backwards compatibility. At least that seems to be a common public opinion.

Other than that I found your article quite informative.
