Quoting: RolandAnyone else experiencing crashes in the finale of "The Last Stand"-Campaign?
No crashes. I ran matches last night with friends for over 4 hours various maps but this one we played a lot so that everyone could get the achievement.

How long until Valve throw their Steam Controller onto the sofa and announce their own?
We always have the choice, but Valve is in a position where it could crush everyone of them, if they don't wait too long. I'm affraid that's what might play against Valve... Valve time.

The train is leaving the station, they should jump onboard before it's too late. New market... Better early than late.
I don't know enough about the industry but in my fantasy land brain, I would love for Valve to get Stadia built in.

Quoting: slaapliedjeThere are definitely games that are now unplayable because they depended on... now I can't even remember the name. It was a service that would hook people up for multi-player. A lot of games were patched so they don't require it anymore, but the services all were shut down (Neverwinter Nights (original) was one of them that used it.

Games For Windows is another one.

Yeah, I've been playing games since the 80s as well, in fact I am heavily into collecting and playing old Atari 8bit games especially, but have an Ultimate64, and Apple IIGS as well. Nothing quite like playing it on real hardware :)
You mean gamespy? There are plenty of work arounds. For example No One Lives Forever used Gamespy but the game also installed a self-hoster so you can still play it online via of the old ip methods.

You can still LAN those games and use stuff like Parsec with it. Just saying that computer gaming community usually responds with solutions.

There was even a way to download Gametap games a while back before that server shut down.

Quoting: slaapliedjeRemember back when you bought a game and it was the complete game? Here is the thing about Stadia or any streaming service. If you have a somewhat spotty internet, you are not going to be able to use it at all. If it gets encouraged, and more comlanies start streaming services, those that are unfortunate enough to not have solid connections will be left going outside to be entertained!
As person that's been gaming on the computer since the 80's, nothing ever really goes away like that. I still rock MUDs with a good playerbase. I like Stadia a lot but my first choice for buying games is GOG but if it's online MP, I'm heading to Stadia.

I'm down to win a copy. I don't donate enough to get in the private forums, though. The demo is Hella fun.

I'm have a great time on Stadia. A few of my friends tapped out but they all came back when Strange Brigade was announced. I'm probably going to stay Pro for the rest of the year. I would love for them to get some more fighting games, tho.

The weekend chat - what have you been playing?

This week has been all on Stadia with a few rounds of games on Fightcade and Parsec with my siblings.

Bomberman Online - Stadia

I like this game so much. So far I've only been to 4th place. It feels like I playing the arcade version from the 90's.

Strange Brigade - Stadia

Been spending a few hours in horde mode with friends. The enemy variation is very fresh and the day light horror setting is a big plus for thos title. I've been very impressed by Rebellion's offering on Stadia. This game has been another great one.

Among US - itch.io

Got this game for free awhile back and my kids got on me to try it. Now their mom, me and few of us old timers are on there playing with everyone. Lots of great fun. The mini games do a great job of preventing bot cheaters.

Street Fighter III 3rd Strike - Fightcade

I have 16 irl friends back on Fightcade. Unless the next update to Tekken 7 fixes the net code, that game is going to be retired, uninstalled and hidden. Been a chore trying to get some good games going properly. But not with fightcade. Every fightcade match is perfect. My main is Ken but now I'm exploring Q.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves - Fightcade
SNK games always feel like home to me. This is one of the greatest fighting games of all time. Did about 6 hours of it on Saturday with my brothers and cousins and restarted some long time fueds. I main Terry and Freeman.

Quoting: RafiLinuxLuckily, we have the DRM-FREE version which is still good to play though it still has the broken issues with Big Band.
Where'd you get the DRM-free version? I can't see this game listed on GOG.com... Also, what are the issues with Big Band?
The original release on Humble Bundle came with a DRM-FREE copy.

Big Band had a bunch of issues but his big step use to reach across the board and you can do infinite resets with him.
