I haven't tried the latest changes in 7D2D yet, but my recent time playing it (a couple of months ago) and I'm somewhat unhappy with the Default settings (most likely the same now). I've spent lots of time with the game in the past, both before the Zombie A.I. path-finding changes and after them. I did find the path-finding used to be more realistic, but then the developers changed it to stop people from building "over-powered" bases where the horde zombies couldn't get to you.
Here are my issues with the Default settings:
The game starts off at a reasonable level, but then the number and strength of zombies encountered during exploration goes up at a horrendous rate, assuming you are playing well. (I'm a veteran at this game and know exactly what I'm doing when I'm playing.)
One aspect of the game is exploration, but once you have gone past the first few game-weeks of survival, then exploration becomes lethal (due to ever increasing toughness of zombies encountered) so I find I am unable to explore any more for fear of being killed. (This is survival after all, if you're role-playing it properly.)
So the game becomes a grind instead. You can't go into buildings, looking for juicy loot. You just stick to the outdoor areas and grind for components and resources. I find the hunt for nitrate for crafting gunpowder, needed for ammo is also annoying.
I'd rather be able to explore and get further along the skills tree, before the game becomes ridiculously hard - And that is the Default Setting, and I'm a veteran player. One farmhouse containing 4 Cops, 10 Irradiated Zombies, 10 Ferals, 5 Zombie Dogs, and 20 regular zombies - The sort of thing I'm talking about. You start the game and the same farmhouse has 4 regular zombies in it.
Leading me on to this: Yes, it is good that the developers have left in a load of controls so you can tweak the experience to your liking.

Picked it up as well, and played for a few hours so far. Before purchasing, I had watched a youtube video showing how the game is played and was drawn in by that. It's a decent game and I'll be playing more of it. In fact I might just launch a session now ;)
A look at what's on sale ahead of the weekend once again, come find your next game

Quoting: tuubiYup, exactly this (and now I've completed day 2).Quoting: devnullAppears the Spring Cleaning Event stopped tracking games? Tried a couple, can't get past Day 2.Because it's still day two of the sale. :) You'll have to wait for day three before you can proceed. Day three starts today at 10.00 PDT, or 17.00 UTC (I think).

I'm seriously tempted to pick up One Deck Dungeon [External Link] which is on 50% discount (for the base game) which I believe is a historical low.
Watched this game play video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzSu6jnhslI [External Link]
and it does look like something I'd probably enjoy.
Anyone played it and have thoughts?
I prefer the game play in Slay The Spire and Frost rather than Card Quest (Proton) or Monster Slayers (Proton) and especially not Pathfinder Adventures (Proton, yuck, didn't like this one).

Looking at the stats, I was amused by the "Number of Monitors" section. There are a few people with 5 monitors and 10 monitors connected to their Linux computer. Trying to imagine what they do on such a setup. Also, wouldn't it be better to have, say, three 4K monitors (equivalent to 12 HD monitors) than 10 individual screens.
On another note, the tiny percentage changes month-on-month could be explained by people just forgetting to answer the survey question one month and remembering on another month, as well as people joining and leaving the survey. I think the trends are more applicable, when you view user count across multiple months, rather than percentage change across one month.

This does look like it pays homage to Darkest Dungeon, e.g. perma-death, art style, game play. But, one thing which really irritated me about Darkest Dungeon - your characters becoming less and less capable as you play (due to mental illness and disease, etc) - doesn't seem to be present here - Great!!!
Very cool deck-building roguelike Dicey Dungeons alpha ending soon, last chance for early price + updated

It's good that I read this article on GOL, because it looks like itch.io doesn't send emails to let you know that owned games have updated. (I also have Terry Cavanagh "Followed" on itch.io but that didn't push me an email either.) I'd have known about the update, purely by logging onto itch.io and checking my feed or logging onto itch.io and checking the individual game title.
Good that Dicey Dungeons has received a recent update, and after downloading and playing for a bit, I can see the new content (e.g. additional missions). I can also see some quality improvements too (e.g. interface clean-up).
Rubbing my hands together looking forward to playing some more :)

Tempted, but already own 5 of the titles, and of the remaining ones (not owned) there are 3 non-Linux titles. Meanwhile, I'm on the verge of pausing my Humble Monthly subscription again, as the Early Reveal isn't for Linux and isn't a title I'm interested in.

I'm happy with them and do find them useful. It is good that you combine commentary with game visuals in your Youtube version (which is the version I watch). If you're finding it a strain to keep up with once per week, then you could reduce the frequency - In that regard, the ball is in your court. Once a week does seem a good time frame though.

Would be good to have Linux percentage stats on this, with such a high user population. I own it myself, but haven't got around to playing it yet.
