Due to extremely poor service, I decided to limit my number of purchases on GOG to 4 annually (once per quarter), and their limit for the first quarter has already been spent. :P
Oh, and I won't touch this "whitcher goodies" so-called gift even with a 10 meter pole! Good luck selling me any "CDProjekt RED" related ware after TW3 debacle. :whistle:
Most probably, they rely on Steam for monetization, being "publishers" for Linux versions and bypassing original "publisher" when it comes to sale accounting. GOG does not provide this "segregation" functionality hence, does not have working mechanism to determine when a porter gets paid for its work (due to Linux sale) and when not, and original "publishers" are not eager to give a porter its cut from all sales (99% of which have nothing to do with Linux, considering GOG virtually surrendered Linux market to Steam without a fight).
That being said, Feral could organize DRM-free sales from its own "store", but instead it is just a Steam™ key reselling masquerade. Feral sure is hanging tight on Steam™ and won't see a sell from me till this changes.

Quoting: ShmerlThey worry too much about their DRM, so GOG users don't need to worry about them.I don't think Feral®'s choice is due to DRM (at least in the first place). If it was, they would be inserting 3rd-party DRM solutions themselves (like, "Always Online" checks), which is not the case.

MangoHud, the excellent Linux overlay layer adds OpenGL support in addition to Vulkan

1) you need to install "cmake" building system;
2) you need to install x11 development package ("libX11-devel");
3) your c compiler/linker can not produce 32-bit executables because most probably you do not have 32-bit version of "glibc-devel" (development files for GNU C Library) installed. This is most probably needed only for 32-bit version of "MangoHud" and is not what you want. Maybe you can disable 32-bit version compilation in the script? Or, just install the package. :)
Regardless, it is easier to just download pre-compiled utility. :D

Quoting: Linuxer<…>I have at least three!
Did not find CMake 'cmake'
Found CMake: NO
<…>
Run-time dependency x11 found: NO (tried pkgconfig)
meson.build:99:2: ERROR: Dependency "x11" not found, tried pkgconfig
<…>
meson.build:21:0: ERROR: Compiler gcc -m32 can not compile programs.
<…>
So that's where i am, any ideas?

It is a feature of itch.io to explicitly telling what files paying customers would get (up to the exact file names, sizes and game versions).
In our case it is as follows:
1) Ease of use by developers. No famous GOG's "curation", no long QA process, no missed updates;
2) No "GOG Galaxy" API BS. Everyone is equal (you most probably will not left waiting for updates while Mac and Windows users enjoy playing);
3) Ability to create custom personal collections (AKA "whishlists").
The downsides of itch.io are:
1) No regional pricing;
2) It is up to developer to provide quality assurance. Most of the games are simply zip-archives without any sort of installers or DE integration. Some assembly may be required! (The last purchased game there refused to run on Fedora. It required infamous "libssl.1.0.0" and "libcrypto.1.0.0" which I have downloaded from ancient Ubuntu repo as well as one other library which is available, but has different naming in Fedora, so copying and renaming it did the trick).

Quoting: Cyba.CowboyIt mostly has DRM-free content! Usually, upon purchasing one is redirected to the download page for the files and other goodies. I've personally seen only one game where the developer explicitly stated that costomers would get Steam™ keys and nothing else.Quoting: Alm888Does Itch.io have DRM-free content too? Might have to take a look then...Quoting: Cyba.CowboyHopefully this comes to GOG.com. because I like the look of it and would buy it if I could get it on GOG.com...Why GOG? Itch.io has everything you probably need (DRM-free, client, "Early Access" access).

Honestly, I don't see a problem here.
A Windows™ game bought and played on Linux is still a Windows™ game none the less. Why developers should care what players are using if they are paying? Plus, as an added bonus, developers are not responsible for any bugs on unsupported platforms.
And one can not blame Proton™ for anything either: it does just what it was designed for -- it brings Windows players to Linux. And it is up to those players to stop buying Windows games from then on.
