Wow!
And I honestly had written that one off.
It is always nice to be wrong in my pessimistic expectations for a change. ^_^

ATOM RPG Trudograd entering Early Access in May - Linux version to come shortly after

Quoting: LinasWell, труд is labor, but трудность is hardship. I think both are fair interpretations, comrade.
"Трудность" (rarely used word, most people prefer "сложность") would be "difficulty" and the "City of Difficulties" would be "Трудностеград" (sounds as awful as it implies to be!). I wonder, who would like to live in a town with such a name :S:

Quoting: LinasRandom fact of the day: "Trudograd" means something like "hardship town" in Russian.
You are excessively dramatic on this one. It is not that sinister-sounding, really, and literally means "City of Labor" (quite fitting, considering USSR nominally was ruled by the "workers and peasants" and "Labor Street" is quite common street name).

EDIT: I think, the English equivalent would be "Worksville".

You can help show Gaijin demand for a Linux version of their upcoming MMO 'Enlisted'

It would be great if they implement Vulkan support! That would be another victory for Vulkan and defeat for DirectX 12.

Too bad, I'm not into MMOs. Like, at all (I hate them with a passion)! But if one is interested in free-to-play casual MMOFPS a la "World of Tants", then (s)he should probably give it a go.

Quoting: PatolaThe first link you posted does not confirm your position, on the contrary, some of the comments show a player getting a Tier-3 paintjob (and I've also taken those from missions too, although I don't remember which was).
"Path to Glory" is a tier 3 paintjob. Which means absolutely nothing. Its "drop rate" is equal to a tier 1 "Opportunity": just take and finish an appropriate guild mission for the faction in the list. :)
Quoting: PatolaThe second link does not have any information regarding the game not having the paintjobs on the missions.
It has. Exactly 1 paintjob per faction (see the list).
Quoting: PatolaAnd from where did you take this list?
I've made it myself based on my 500+ hours in the game and dozens of completed guild missions (normal missions never have paintjob as reward). Chances there are super rare "once in a blue moon" rewards with some paintjobs other than in the list are minuscule.

Quoting: PatolaYou can earn every prize through regular missions.
Not true. As I wrote above, some paintjobs are on-line exclusive.
I doubt it. Which ones? What is your source?
The usual stuff:Without mods players are basically limited to 6 paitjobs (besides default one):
ARG: Forty Two
ANT: The Vindicator
HOP: Path to Glory
PAR: Garbage Disposal Unit 3
TEL: Opportunity
SCA: The Scream
And that's it. :'(

Quoting: devlandSome people say that you need to be online and create an account in order to upgrade your ship. Is that still a thing?
Not entirely true, no. AFAIK, upgrading a ship was never tied to on-line status. That is so since version 2.50 (initial release), dunno for the earlier beta-versions.

EgoSoft account and Steam DRM connection were still needed for certain things: obtaining some on-line exclusive paintjobs for ships (purely aesthetic) or unlocking alternative gamestarts (done via checking for certain achievement on Steam). This means GOG users were out of luck with the gamestarts (at least up to 2.60HF2).

Regardless, none of the above prevents meaningful ship upgrades (changing of equipment etc.).
Quoting: gojulI own all the X- games but not this one.
In other words, you don't own all the X-games.

NVIDIA have a new Vulkan Beta Driver out for Linux - helping DOOM Eternal on Steam Play
2 Apr 2020 at 7:54 am UTC

Added a workaround for Linux Steam Play title DOOM Eternal, which overrides application requested memory locations
Wait, WHAT?!
In other words, "DOOM Eternal" has instructions to specifically place resources in system RAM instead of VRAM if ran on Linux? I mean, Windows® users do not encounter the "resources are in RAM" issue, that mean developers deliberately wrote the application to misbehave on Linux. That's a sabotage!

Collabora partnered with Microsoft to get OpenGL and OpenCL on DirectX
24 Mar 2020 at 4:50 pm UTC Likes: 6

Well, it might technically be beneficial for Microsoft®, considering Windows' current sore state of built-in OpenGL implementation (I think it is something like "OpenGL 1.1") and could make some vendor-locked-in devices (like "Microsoft Surface") to be somewhat useful. Or to help AMDGPU-powered devices to s**k a little less in OpenGL applications (it would be nice to have a comparison to official AMD OpenGL stack)…

But, honestly, using "DirectX 12" is like betting on a dead horse. I mean, who needs DX12 when we have Vulkan? On the other hand, DX12 is all Microsoft® has, so they are out of options… :S:
