This is seriously cool; both in concept and to see Feral further helping the platform (with open source, no less!).
I won't be installing it yet, as I already use indicator-cpufreq to change the cpu governor. But When other improvements come I probably will give it a spin.

Woohoo!
Is the DX12 version better than DX11 on windows?
Quoting: EhvisNow I'm curious. IIRC, RoTR has DX12 support. Did Feral use that basis for their port to Vulkan or did they go for DX11 translation they already had working.I'd like to know too. Would be interesting to know which is better/easier for Feral.

Edit: In case anyone else has the same issue, it turns out that getting it through the Uplay client works fine.

Quoting: wvstolzingIs it my delusional perception, or have companies really stepped up this giveaway thing recently? I've lost count of how many games I added to my collection this year, from giveaways. I guess it's an efficient advertising strategy. Maybe.I've been trying to get Assassin's Creed 4, but every time I log in on their site for it, it says "login error!". Is no one else getting this problem?
If you're a heathen double-booter like me, by the way, ubisoft is currently giving away Assassin's Creed 4 (which is a very good game, by the way). Earlier on they gave away Watchdogs.

For older games I honestly wouldn't mind if games were wine-wrapped. Old games practically have to be wrapped one way or another anyway, and the key thing is official support; messing around with wine or discovering bugs mid-game is not fun.
For newer or demanding games, I do have a preference towards "native" games, but it's a mild preference; I would instantly jump on an official wine wrapped port of DooM 2016, for example.

Wow, this has pretty cool potential.
Here's hoping they stick to keeping it fairly open and nail the interface.

Honestly, the whole idea of having a score connected to reviews is broken.
It creates a field where creators and reviewers are constantly going to find ways of going one over the other in "cheating the system" - there will never be a perfect equilibrium where all reviews are fair, reliable and accurate. Never mind the fact that everyone's taste keeps diversifying all the time and most reviewers don't know how to review properly.
I much prefer Liam's and TotalBiscuit's way of reviewing where there's no score, and a focus of showing the game as is, warts and all with notes on how the reviewer values it.
EDIT: added some spacing.

Is it just me or does AntiAliasing not work?
I thought it was maybe just a bug, but it looks to me like there is no AA in the trailer.

What have you been playing on Linux lately and what do you think?

I recently finished Bioshock Infinite which was mildly disappointing, and have now been "playing" with the Godot engine mostly. Once in a while I get around to playing Saints Row co-op and KotOR 2, which are great.
I can't wait till Consortium 2 and Pillars 2 come out.

It would be nice if it was Rise of the Tomb Raider, seems probable too.
