Booting games with the Linux Steam client without noticing they are for Windows is great.
Now I will finally pick up Rage and Shadow Warrior 2.
And it is less of a hassle in Linux to get the Windows game files for a Linux Port (GZDoom, OpenLara etc.).

I had neither sound nor visual. :D
To get sound, I installed pulseaudio/alsa 32-bit.
To get visual, I set Unity to Fullscreenmode = 0.
Haven't figured out how to get the game fullscreen though. :/

These are the steps for Ubuntu:
$ sudo apt-get install p7zip-full libsdl2-mixer-2.0.0 # Install 7-zip and SDL2-mixer
$ 7z x IonMaiden_Preview-1.0.exe # Extract downloaded exe with 7-zip
$ chmod +x IonMaiden_Linux.bin # Make Linux binary executable
$ ./IonMaiden_Linux.bin # Execute the binary

Quoting: RafiLinuxYou do NOT need Wine or Windows.Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoThe Windows installer includes the Linux version called IonMaiden_Linux.binI extracted the files and I also installed them via WINE. I read through the text file but the .bin file is not working in any way.
Is there an install method in these readme files?

I downloaded the Windows Installer (IonMaiden_Preview-1.0.exe) to a new folder:
$ sudo pacman -S p7zip sdl2_mixer
$ 7z x IonMaiden_Preview-1.0.exe
$ chmod +x IonMaiden_Linux.bin
$ ./IonMaiden_Linux.bin

Quoting: MblackwellI believe this is a packaging mistake on the part of 3DR and the exe actually contains the Linux binary when extracted. I will try and get this fixed!Correct. Thank you.

Quoting: HamishSo I bought the game on the 3D Realms website but I am only seeing a Windows installer for the preview campaign. No Linux to be found.Like Hamish, I only see the Windows installer.

Tested with Steam Client on Arch Linux:
Steam -> Settings -> Account -> CHANGE... -> Steam Beta Update -> OK
After restart Steam is in 2x scaling (Large Mode)! :D
Still hoping on 3840x2160 though (Big Picture Mode)...

What I did on Arch was this:
Because I am on 1920(x1080), which is 6 times the games resolution, i.e. 320(x200).

I had no problems starting it on Arch Linux. However, it went into a fullscreen mode with a 1:1 pixel ratio, making the actual viewable area for the game pretty tiny at only a 320x200 area of my screen.You can see the parameters with:
./StrangerThings --helpWhat I did on Arch was this:
