I wonder what will be left once the AI bubble bursts. I sincerely hope this "we need to put AI into *everything*" trend is one of the things that goes away...
Talking point - what have you been playing lately?

Been on a Bitburner binge lately, as well as some Valheim with my kids. Plus the odd Factorio and RimWorld sessions.
And of course my go-to game when I want to play something, but don't know what: Sid Meier's Civilization. The only game that's been installed on all my PCs since I got it in 1992 (thank you DosBox (staging)).

Choosing only one game is borderline cruel, so here goes (in no particular order):
* Super Mario Bros 3
* Mega Man 2
* Snake Rattle 'n Roll
* Zelda
* Double Dragon
* River City Ransom
* Blades of Fury

I tried Bazzite for a couple of weeks, but it just wasn't for me. It's not a bad OS, by any means, but I guess I'm just too set in my ways to appreciate their focus areas.
Back on Arch today. Trying out Endeavour OS for the first time.
That said, I wish nothing but good things for the Bazzite team, and hope they get many more users going forward!

I have a SteamDeck, and I'm very happy with it. That said, that GPD looks pretty sweet, and with official SteamOS support, I want one...

My ten-year-old son just summed up this article for me;
"Well, now Roblox has gone and made themselves shit"
His PC's running Debian 12, and Roblox is his favourite game. He plays it just about daily with his classmates. Now he's stuck with playing it on his phone. He asked me today if there's a way to trick Roblox into thinking it's running on Windows, but it's actually running on Linux, and I had to explain to him that that's basically what he's been doing for the last two years.

Valve announces new rules for games with AI Content on Steam

As long as any games created with the help of "AI" (it's not intelligent, but that's a whole other discussion) are clearly marked with a big, red sign so I can avoid them like the plague, then I'm ok with this...

At this point, I think Unity can say whatever they want. The damage is done, and the trust is gone. Primarily from the developers, but as soon as your average gamer realises that in order to pull this off, Unity would have to install what amounts to malware in every runtime...
