No Heroes FPS update number 36!

How can so much talent be located in one individual! It makes me happy yet sad at the same time... My programming skills, 2D texture skills and 3D modelling skills are all low level... Man, looking at this guy's FPS game really makes my own Unity FPS game look like crap...  I struggled with just trying to handle different screen resolutions, and he already has an advanced effects option menu.

Would love to learn how he did the networking with Photon cloud. I definitely look forward to seeing his game released :)

Legends of Aethereus an MMORPG in closed beta that's coming to Linux

The game looks friggin awesome! Thanks for the video edgley, nicely done :)
Can I ask, does it already have co-op? If it does, I'll get it with a close friend of mine. We're suckers for co-op games.

Jack Keane adventure game shows up on Desura

Well, that makes sense. Seriously though, for an old game I couldn't tell by the graphics. It looks new to me. Maybe it's just that my mind is stuck in the PS1 era :P

[Still love the PS1/PS2 and Xbox 1 generation so badly..]

This is the first time I've heard of this game, but the trailer makes it look like good fun. I always enjoy games that put some form of humor into them :)

Is this a game actually made for Linux first? Or are my senses just messing with my mind?

This here's a good site for checking on game sales, I found it a couple of weeks ago :)

Civitas - Plan, develop and manage the city of your dreams!

Hmm, they claim to be veterans in AAA titles but have been recently laid off. If they are veterans, why don't they have at least a video showing members of the team/studio, and possibly game art and shorts of development?

As much as it looks so very cool, the no-video thing turned me off immediately before even having read Anon's comment above. They have made a Facebook account, but for the sum of money they're asking it's just not enough information. There's one video on Terraforming, but it feels strangely unprofessional. If it's only a one man team though, I am impressed with what he's accomplished in that video so far.

Thanks liamdawe for sharing this though, I'll be watching it in the coming days. Might pledge if it starts to look realistic and trustworthy.

Gratuitous Space Battles joins Steam Linux but beware!

That's a crying shame. At least the developer is transparent about it. I can understand it's not easy financially for him, since he's an indie developer. Still grateful he even decided to have a Linux port made :)

Really? So does that mean Linux users don't have access to unit control because we don't have the updated version?

Gratuitous Space Battles joins Steam Linux but beware!

I honestly don't mind, he seems like a nice developer. I even tried the Steam version and made a small gameplay video here (it just covers the tutorial):

The game runs flawlessy (on singleplayer offline). It even detected my screen settings off the bat, and enabled everything in Ubuntu 12.10 64Bit. I haven't tested it with online gameplay, so I don't know about that. I do know it runs smoothly, and seriously the 2D animations in this game are awesome.

The only con is that the gameplay style of Gratuitous is not to my liking. It's a plan-then-watch kind of strategy game. I'd have loved to control the ship units myself and have them attack what I want. Heck, if there were space bases, that would be even cooler. If there is a way to control the units myself, let me know!

On an unrelated note: The developer behind Harvest:Massive Encounter is really not cool. I can't even get that game to work in 32bit, which is the only thing he aimed for! Feel like I wasted my money on Harvest...

Minecraft 1.5 pre release is out!
7 Mar 2013 at 4:26 pm UTC

Sadly, I stopped playing right before they hit 1.0 release due to entering University. Would love to game with my friends in this once again. I remember it being one of the first indie games in Ubuntu that I was extremely excited about during it's Alpha stage. Now all my siblings play it too :)

Good times, and really grateful Notch and his team keep on supporting Linux.
