Steam's hardware survey now shows many distro's
18 Mar 2013 at 2:59 am UTC

0.00% Linux 3.2 64 bit
What distro is called Linux? Or is this referring to older Linux distributions in general based on Kernel version? I am curious why they'd include stats for distributions that are practically at 0.00%...

I wonder if there's a future where we'll see 20-40% of the desktop market owned by Linux distributions, in a time where desktops are still important that is.

10 Million the indie puzzle rougelike game Review
15 Mar 2013 at 4:45 pm UTC

To each his own :)
I believe the devs are still trying to get Alsa working with Vokoscreen, but I haven't tested the latest release with Alsa.

I do wonder if the Fraps developers would ever consider making a Linux version in the future, since I really find it nice to show the FPS when recording. Especially for games that don't readily provide such an ability.

Nice video Liam! You should use Vokoscreen man, it makes it really easy to record fullscreen games with their sounds attached (so no additional editing required). I've been testing and returning feedback to the developer, so it pretty much works great in 12.04, 12.10 and 13.04 :)

I'm surprised for a 2D game, the animations are really lively (after watching your video). I am a bit confused though, is it an RPG that uses Tetris as the game mechanics?

Day of Defeat and Day of Defeat: Source beta on Steam for Linux!
15 Mar 2013 at 12:46 am UTC

Wow, the Source version looks so much more sexy!
Awesome video man, I think I might just get DoD Source when it goes on sale. I like how the dead-camera has that vintage filter, and was someone running with a sword? Hehe :)

Woot, another set of cool games added to the Linux library!

I only have the oldschool DoD, not the Source one but I made a small gameplay video of it if you'd like to see it in action :)  (You might want to skip to 3:10 if you're just interested in watching a match)

Another quality port from Valve. I really can't wait for CS:GO and L4D one and two. I remember trying so hard with Wine back when the first L4D was released, good times :P

Sacred Line - free dark adventure/surreal thriller got an upgrade
13 Mar 2013 at 8:13 pm UTC

I discovered what the problem is sashadarko. Your data folder is missing the x86 folder inside Mono directory.

I downloaded Slenderman's Shadow demo, and searched their Data folder to see what was different. After copying their x86 folder into Sacred Line's Mono folder, the game starts up no problem. This is definitely because the linux build process screwed up (or your Unity installation is semi-corrupted, meaning you need to reinstall Unity).

Inside the x86 folder is just one file, libmono.so

I uploaded the x86 folder in Mediafire if you want to test it yourself or paste it into your data folder:

Sacred Line - free dark adventure/surreal thriller got an upgrade

I tried it once more, even redownloaded it just to make sure. It still returns the same mono error.
Could it be that when you Built it for the Linux build, that the build got corrupted? It has happened to me before when I used Unity for a mini-project.

I tried both the 32bit and 64Bit executables, and made sure chmod 775 was done (in GUI it's just ticking "Allow executing file as program". This is on Ubuntu 12.10 64Bit with an Nvidia GTX 680 using the 304 drivers, so it's not a hardware issue just to be sure. Would you mind rebuilding the game once more and reuploading it to Mega?
