More importantly than seeing games run, I'd like to know how often you had to open a Terminal, and enter commands or change admin-level files to get things working. Or fix issues that arise.

I'm interested in the difficulty or ease of using it. (Maybe record on paper the number of times issues arose per-day)

I'm already on 3.19 in Ubuntu 15.04 and the experience is stable if you're interested in upgrading to this for the duration of the test :)

Larian Studios Detail Why The Linux Port Of Divinity Is Taking So Damn Long

Why are these companies always vague about what middleware they used? Are you under NDA when using middleware, that no soul may know you used it?
When these companies cite middleware as the reason for no Linux port, I become cautious that it's really just a pretend issue so the normal, non-developer gamers won't argue, since they don't know anything about it (and can't study further about it, since no name is provided).

Quoting: Segata SanshiroI'll wait till the final version comes out to get this. Got plenty of awesome Linux games to play now so I'm in no hurry, even though I've wanted this game for a while now :)
My thoughts exactly :)
I also really want my purchases to count as Linux sales, so just being safe.

If Aspyr reads this, please enable PhysX in your port! Missing the awesome effects and insane particle spawning makes me feel like I'm missing out on the full Borderlands experience.

That said, thank you for the awesome port!

Dying Light Major Patch Released, Performance Finally Okay On Linux (UPDATED)

Well...they did fix a lot of their mistakes in the GL calls for each frame. And made a bunch of new ones. Anywhere between 50k to 100k OpenGL API calls per frame. That's....insane. That's really, really, really insane. A lot of it could be cleaned up quite easily (really, VAOs, they were introduced into GL3.x for a reason, please use them), and generating a bunch of textures (or at least handles for them) each frame is...crazy.
Basically, good luck to any video card drivers.
That is actually really cool information. In comparison, what would be a sane amount of calls per frame for a game of this caliber?

Alright, crashing is a real issue now as I can achieve crashing in doing almost anything.

That said, the fps improvement is real (Able to reach 102 fps near the sea, 50fps near the sea village, 40 fps near the tower). A tip, when changing your graphics settings, its NOT enough to just exit to the main menu to see it.

You have to exit the game entirely. Upon restarting the game, it will compile the shaders with those new settings, and only then will you see the fps difference between high and low.

I tested this just now, changing between all high and all low, fps does not change. The effects only took place after exiting the game and re-entering. This had to be done each time I wished to change any graphics settings.

Quoting: coryrj19951I still can't really play it... :'( But I did happen to get the "It's all in the writing" achievement just by starting the game...
Did you previously get all the collectibles to get this? Or did it just randomly unlock? I'm trying to achieve 100% achievements in this, so any info you can share is valuable to me :)

Sorry to hear about it crashing and having rainbows, that sucks.

I would grant them some slack ricki42. Unlike many other AAA developers out there not supporting or even porting their games to Linux themselves, Techland is taking it upon itself to do it for us. They want to be better at developing for the Linux platform.

I honestly believe this to be a very good point about them, and since this has only been their second release for Linux (day 1 release at that!) I honestly believe patience is well deserved for their good effort :D

Plus, Dying Light is an amazing game. Finished it, from beginning to end with an Arch Linux buddy and Windows 8 buddy in co-op. (Not without issues of course, but we can persevere)

I trust in Feral as well. I also love the fact that they ported XCOM as a 64bit executable, and I hope they ship Shadow of Mordor in a similar fashion :D
