The Linux beta of X4: Foundations has been running nicely, a new update is now out

I love it so far. The learning curve isn't an issue if you are used to older games without hand holding, use google and take it slow and just try stuff out. Time is money, so you can easily mine crystals and/or do easy taxi missions to get some cash to buy new ships. Just make sure to buy a freighter early on so you can trade parts to the stations you want to build more ships on. If the shipyard is out of engine parts and what not you're in for a wait. Trying to use the starter ship as a freighter is like moving one sand particle at a time to build a beach :P

The game isn't perfect but I'm def having fun with it and it's a great time sink.

I'm glad it's coming anyway. I need a secretary to keep track of everything (and to play some games) to be able to support all the ones I should.

Hm. I'm kind of interested if it can run without being logged into Steam. Like having it up on a second computer like a good old screen saver.

City Game Studio is another sim that has you run your own games company, developed on Linux

I think I can like this game. Did a couple of hours yesterday and it's pretty good for EA. I did ofc go bankrupt after 20 years or so but I guess that's good in this business since I started thinking like #¤/&"%& Electronic Arts :P

I humbly second that suggestion on YT that you should have some sort of text/image showing the current subject, just for us to keep track of what you're currently talking about.
Yup, I agree for those watching the video rather than just listening. Already have some ideas on this, to keep it simple while giving people something to see.

This is absolutely something I will do for the next one.
The podcast is a really cool idea! I liked it very much! As for the video, why not show yourself to your audience? Or maybe some kind of split screen with a video of you describing the stuff and having some info regarding the current topic displayed along with it? Would also add some personal flavor.
You might laugh, but I'm ridiculously shy and my camera setup is pretty terrible + terrible lighting in my office. The fact that I'm on camera of Destination Linux (like this recent episode [External Link] skip to around 1:16:00) is a miracle :P
It works very well and gets the job done if you ask me. Plenty of guests on that show that have far worse setups than that. I only watch via zoom though so I guess that gives a slightly different view of things and ppl compared to the edited video.
It's not like there's any point in trying to compete with Michael when it comes to hair and speeches ;)
