Quoting: stretch611Also, for those that are interested, the devs have not participated in and have no plans to discount factorio [External Link] during any sales. There is no reason to wait for a sale, or you will be disappointed [External Link].Thanks for the info, removed it from my wishlist. 20euro is a bit too much for me for such poorly looking game (also I dislike they stance on sales, so I am not supporting it).

The game is on 4k with multiple monitors on Linux literally unplayable (nothing can be clicked and it is running only on a quarter of the screen). Their response "passing this on to our linux specalist who should get back to you soon" was a plain lie. It's been way over half a year (more like 3/4 of a year) and nothing was fixed. I haven't heard from them anything since than.
TL;DR: Red Hook Studios (Games) are from my experience crooks. Be very careful, I don't recommend supporting them (buying anything from them), because they don't support their paying customers at all.
PS: Tried their game just now and it is indeed still broken (honestly, I wasn't expecting anything else).

Really, suggesting 1k$ as an entry fee? You have to be in a rich country where even burger-flippers earn that in like two weeks... 1k$ where I live (center of EU) is above median by like 20% per MONTH. For a hobbyist making his game in free time it means he will never get it to Steam which IMO is bad. Why should only rich people or people from rich countries should be able to publish on Steam?

I have bought the original game few months ago and I am really disappointed. It is broken = unplayable, I can't click on anything (mouse clicks are ignored) and only 1/4 of 4k screen is used. They promised to fix it, but it's a few months now and it's still broken.
Can't recommend buying games from this company, their approach is awful...

How To: An update on fixing screen-tearing on Linux with an NVIDIA GPU

With those 6 env. variables mentioned in previous post I got very bad fps drops when using vdpau, nothing changed in opengl mode.
I tried several different combinations of env. variables, smplayer settings and nvidia settings. I found a working combo - NO special env. variable (that was probably breaking it for me earlier, namely __GL_YIELD and __GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS), in nvidia settings only check "force full composition pipeline" on a "tv" monitor (and save the config, in my case [kubuntu] to /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d) and in SMPlayer use opengl or vdpau output driver. Yey, finally got smooth video playback :D.

Quoting: tuubiI am using SMPlayer (mpv backend).Quoting: monnefThe tearing is very visible when watching full hd video. Sadly it is working fine in Windows 10 (dual boot), so it shouldn't be a hw issue.Which player? Use something that supports VPDAU, like mpv or Kodi. Or are you talking about Flash video on the web?
EDIT: Sorry, just noticed your earlier message. I remember having trouble with video tearing as well back before I started using Compton.

Thank you for your time to write down the tips. I tried it all, but it still behaves the same (I have enabled compositor).
I forgot to mention that I also tried:
But without any luck. Also tried opengl renderer in SMPlayer, older drivers, but nothing seems to make any change. I am beginning to think that it's broken just for specific GPU serie or model, or some weird combination of package versions, because I see so many posts how to fix it and how it is working for everybody :( .

Not working for me :(. *sadpanda*
I am using KDE (Kubuntu 16.04) and I have also tried setting to full redraw, activating VDPAU in player (it doesn't work in SMPlayer nor Firefox HTML5 player). I am quite annoyed by this - having nice (for me quite expensive) GPU GTX 1070, yet basic "feature" like vsync is broken :'(.
PS: Drivers version is 375.26.

Haven't read everything (so I am sorry if it's already mentioned), but WoW is not running very good in Wine. You have two choices, both are bad. Either you use DirectX renderer and lower your settings to the lowest and you maybe get the performance of an integrated graphic card even though you have a mid/highend gaming GPU (I have GTX 1070 and I was able to run it on almost highest details on Window$ with decent FPS) or you will have high FPS but a broken game with OpenGL renderer (corrupted land textures, missing water, aggressive "flashbangs" caused by effects of smoke/fire/steam).
I heard it's because Apple has their own graphic thingy (Metal or something like that), so Blizz is using that on Mac and Windows are using DX, so no reason to update/maintain OpenGL renderer. :-(
