The desktop mode just said you don't have a system capable to do it.

Curiously, Steam Broadcasting settings now actually show up in the Linux client. Before this Beta update, the Broadcast settings page always said "Steam Broadcasting is not currently supported on this operating system" but that message is gone and replaced with the ability to turn it on. Not that it works, testing this morning didn't allow people to watch me or me to watch them. Will be interesting to see if they are working on getting it supported or if it the settings were enabled in the Linux client by mistake. It was there in 2015 already on steamos: Big picture always had the option to turn it on. It just doesn't do anything, and doesn't let you know it doesn't work until you actually try to watch it. The visitors would get the message that the player did not have a system that was capable to perform broadcasting.

Broadcasting would be nice... Now I don't have to invite friends to remote play together radiator 2 and dominatrix simulator.
Looks like Valve could be set to launch something called Steam Cloud Gaming

It could be the same like steamos and steammachines: Valve delivers the pieces, it's up to cloud providers to deliver the service.

In the mean time, big picture hasn't changed a bit. It actually still has the videos store, you can still buy videos. Just you can't play them because the player is broken.

Sounds pretty good.
Pay to win games are mostly created around how they can manipulate the player as much as possible so he will lower his resistance to paying and eventually pay and pay more and more. There have been a lot of studies to how you can get players addicted and paying.
Put those techniques in a slim gaming jacket and you get an endless income.
Fellow developers pointed at this research with much shame, because, let's face it, it's disgusting if the primary drive is to program addiction stimulants, and only after that maybe a gaming concept.
It's hard for parents to understand how far the gaming industry go to get their children addicted.
I've seen it from up close too on that game promoted by Arnold Schwarzenegger, mobile strike.
It really had a big load of addiction stimulants, like advanced forms of peer pressure.
Even for me as an adult it was hard to say no. The only way actually was to just delete the game and block the accounts. I was in it for 100 euro. But for some a weekend of $2000 was normal.
And these were not even kids. And the game sucked to be honest.
So am I against loot boxes? Not really. But I am really against paid for lootboxes. And I am in favour of controlled expenses. The expenses should never exceed a simple $5 a month for a child. That's still $60 a year.
And I am against peer pressure techniques and all other addiction stimulants they purposely put in games.
Maybe they should concentrate on creating a good game instead of an addictive game. There really is a difference.
So yes please... bring back the fun in gaming.
(Also, anyone remember the PUBG mobile murder where a 26 year old "child" murdered his father because he refused to pay for any more loot boxes and confiscated his mobile phone. That kid was severely addicted. Let's hope he was one of a kind).

Vulkan support is not far away now for the flight sim X-Plane 11, physics & flight model updates coming

Quoting: Mountain ManBut Linux won in all cases I actually care about commercially. POS systems usually are html5 based, and when you talk about 500 systems on a site, you definitely want to have the cheaper hardware. Actually you don't want any PC, but sometimes I don't have a say about that. But sometimes managers need reassurance that Windows is never the solution for a POS system, this is another statistic that just turned in my favor.Quoting: ArdjeX-Plane looks a bit dull to me, but this got me excited: X-Plane almost twice as fast on Linux than on Windows [External Link].Yeah, but Linux got blown away in every other gaming comparison. :(

So a buy would be a supporter buy. But since the performace of X-Plane is better on Linux than on Windows, I allow it to be a bit more pricy.

Quoting: SkipperroMan... I'm collecting everything with Vulkan support and I have X-Plane on my wishlist for a long time, but I'm not as big of the simulator fan to pay freaking 65$ for it. I would rather save it for Kerbal Space Program 2.I have X-Plane also on my wishlist. I did have some fun with Euro Truck Simulator, but I guess X-Plane is more realistic. And I actually don't want that. Unless someone funds me the gear to drive a HMD.

But steam considered their censoring too freedom limiting, especially as it seems to differ between people at steam what's acceptable or not. So in their extreme wisdom, they have created a section that you must explicitly enable. And in their righteous wisdom they've added two settings: nudity/sexual and violence/gore. I am really glad they added violence/gore. Some parts of GTA V are things I did not want to see/play/do, but were necessary to continue.
Anyway, there is sex-n-guns (VR, paid for, very explicit 3d animation and actions) and dominatrix simulator (VR and non VR, free, but except for nudity, this is about domination and not explicit action), I think there was even a gay masturbation simulator or something like that.
I know this due to a friend, but if you want to know the exact titles, lemme fire up steam, I mean, his steam.

Quoting: razing32I'm surprised Laim covered thisI probably buy this too, as I can't stop laughing.
I'm more surprised this is allowed on steam considering they have been censoring anime titties
Yeah I am buying this for a few people as a joke - no doubt.
