Quoting: TheRiddickthe developer will probably use this to show that linux sales are poor and not worth the trouble. That seems to happen all to often, never mind the fact people can't play their game.Indeed, I think porting is done mostly because most of us are very enthousiast and happy. A developer works for money *and* pride. Trust me, you can have the most honorable profession, but if people start to shit on you, you either go for the money (we don't have that, we are a minority), or stop altogether. (And trust me on this: you usually get a lot more respect and money in less honorable professions).

It doesn't take away that their communication is very very bad, but that's towards everyone. And in the salty environment they are in, I can't blame them:
"I got an update, but there is no changelog, what a bunch of loosers",
"The changelog has been updated, but I can't download it, what a bunch of loosers", this being only a small thing of which they never can get right, and the wording has been made a bit less offending.
We don't want a "the witcher 2" debacle. As such, please use words like: "I am slightly dissappointed". As a matter of fact: ark is *the* game we can have a reversed effect, as the comments are so toxic I want to just completely filter out those that have not learned that word respect. Unfortunately it's impossible.
Anyway, it is good to hear the caves are fixed if we follow Ketils steps. When I read about the updated engine, I suspected we need to do something, usually that's noted in the changelog though. Despite those glitches, this game has me hooked in a fun way, that I was even considering removing it and all data from my computer. And now my new base is at liams server so I can't even delete that 8-D.

Quoting: liamdaweLiam, I do think he is right in that you as a reporter should take a more moderate stance. Yes, I see you as a reporter trying to be as objective as possible.Quoting: KetilI think this article should have waited until we had done a bit more research because as it is now, it is misleading. No, it's the exact experience for me, it's not misleading in any way. I've tested all settings, tried resetting them and cleared out any cache as well. I did plenty of tests, all resulting in the same thing.

If this is released for linux, I want to spend the bucks on the right person. Meeh, no coupon it is.Right now there is a Linux depot, but is very small..

That video makes me look damn stupid... Guess it's just like ark... you die a lot. Then watch a few videos, then start over and do it good. Although I did not need to start over with ark. Still playing since 2015, except that my first bed is now in the cold snow biome and it was an almost insta kill. Being level 94 now I can visit my old habitat. Fun to see I tried plot farming, but I didn't know how.
Steam now has over 3,500 games for Linux, with GOG having over 700

To those that think GOG was polish based. That's true. As another said, this is just a tax and or responsibility evasion scheme. GOG is indeed polish, as when they tried to hire programmers, one of the requirements was that you would be able to work on location in <insert polish city>.

According to phoronix the preliminary opensource drivers work better than the closed source drivers.
Next to that: in some benchmarks it outperforms the price equivalent nvidia cards.
As such I am pretty inclined to get one, as nvidia has been anti-development by locking in game developers with stuff that only works correctly on nvidia as nvidia neglects opengl conformance in a way that forces you to buy an nvidia as other drivers do conform to opengl and just throw errors.
"It cannot be my engine as it works perfectly on nvidia".
And let's not talk about patent abuse.
So yeah, these cards and the phoronix tests are bringing tears to my eyes...
It's like voodoo3, but just let's hope ati/amd will make it.

The current problem is that with the rise of bitcoins popularity the transaction costs are equally rising. So buying anything might set you another $1 of transaction cost back.

Quoting: DamonLinuxPLFor me this shop is more interesting than buying on Steam. Why? Because Steam not have my currency and I need to pay in Euros. For example in local store I can buy game BOX+SteamKey for 100 PLN (about 24 euro), when I buy in local internet store only steamkey I pay about 80 PLN (about 19 euro). It might be worth it to invest in a bit of bitcoin...

Individual shaders are tracked and catalogued by the Steam servers in preparation for distributing pre-compiled shaders.Wow, they can actually go ahead an make the biggest distributed (shader) compiler (cache) on the world... Just hash and upload the hashes and binaries, and those with the highest matching scores can be used by others (to prevent foul play).
