Steel Division: Normandy 44 RTS announced by Paradox & Eugen Systems (UPDATED)

Quoting: KimyriellePersonally I am getting a tad jaded of the WWII setting (how often did we kick Hitler's behind in video games again?), but it -does- look like it's going to be a good game.
What? Did I always play on the wrong side?

Torment: Tides of Numenera, early port report and thoughts

What pleases me is that it actually has a text-size setting. For a text-heavy game, this is a must for me. Too many games put in tiny text and don't allow you to adjust it, so it's another feature that's fantastic to see built-in.
Exactly. As I need a bit larger when playing this on the TV.
In all other games I regularly have to walk to the tv to read the tiny letters.
This is great.

Quoting: scaineI think I submitted FortressCraft Evolved? Not for Best Audio though - I think it was the "Best Update" category. You can only vote on what was submitted, so if you (or someone else) didn't stick Devil Daggers in the right category, it couldn't get votes. I think? Pretty sure that's how it worked.

I think Liam ran two or three articles asking for submissions.
I was pretty surprised at the updates on FCE, and that guy keeps on updating the base game...
I don't know when I can sleep when V17 comes out with yet another nice base optimisation equipment....

Editorial: Steam Machines are not dead, plus a video from The Linux Gamer
27 Feb 2017 at 3:16 pm UTC

The only steam machines available in the Netherlands are the alienware and the zotac.
All others need to be imported, and the only other vendor was a french one of which I can't decode the language.
The alienware is dirty cheap as a cheap linux low-noise desktop. To be clear: In order to run steamos it needs to be linux compatible, so an alienware steam machine is a pretty decent and cheap choice if you need a working desktop.
If you need more horsepower the only choice here is the zotac, which performs quite well as my gaming rig, freeing up my intel pc for video transcoding. (My real desktop is an odroid XU4....).
So to me they are not really dead.

Quoting: Guestthis is a popularity contest and a shit form of analysis. I've played most of the games in the audio category, and none of them have SHIT on Devil Daggers for audio. you're comparing the second greatest game ever made to cinematic garbage.
But did you submit Devil Daggers into this contest?
Yes it is a contest, and any top will always be a popularity contest. And I feel guilty about not submitting mine. So yes, I do not agree with the list, but I did not even try to vote or even submit fortresscraft evolved.

is the detailed update note.
1260h on record, takes 20h to get into it, and now maybe a lot less (due to updated tutorial).
Plays perfect/good enough with a steam controller if you use my bindings.

I think steam needs an overhaul on their reviewing system. Some games are bad, true.
But many games are not and are still rated bad. Why? Because some lame ass user looked at it 5 seconds, couldn't find the "make me happy button" and decides to spread hate.
ARk had so many bad reviews.
Fortresscraft evolved.. bad reviews.
And many other games.
Fortunately there is a thing that shows how long somebody played a game, so you can easily filter out most of the bogus reviews.
There should be a reviewer review. And if someone has more than a 10% downvote score, his review should not ever be part of the statistics. The chance that he really has bad luck is so benign, that it's statistically better for his reviews not to count. Of course it should be viewable, but not part of the statistics.
What's also bad is that if a developer makes a booboo and pushes the bad build, it will generate bad reviews that are never ever revoked.
And yes, I assuming a he, as no one has ever proven to me that there are actual females on steam too ;-). JK.
Edit: actually valve should also use percentiles, if they did not already do so.

Quoting: scaineThe depth of FCE (thanks!) actually ended up putting me off! I sank in about 20 hours or so, experimenting with various maps and methods. The fact that the combustion engines don't work below a certain point was really infuriating, the cold caverns killed me too quickly, finding Lithium took, literally, hours. So it's a bit of a learning curve.
I think 20 hours was for me the tipping point. I got to know it, and then I started to see how thinks should be.
But especially the forums were helpful.
To be clear: I have done away with combustion engines, or just 3 just for show. Anything else is solar and geothermal. The base game gets updated regularly (as the developer gets mostly payed by patreon and not by selling dlc) with new things.
And it's perfectly fine to take leave of this game until you have thought things out. One of the best things I did was automate creation of mass storage crate, as I now have about 1.3M items.
I don't know when you stopped, but mass storage got an improvement, allowing for 6 block high storage from a single crate, so 150 items per crate instead of 25.
I balance out my itches with ark: survival, but that's mostly ark: extinction, and now try to get your stuff back within 5 minutes that's near that big carnivore (else your stuff will expire, and you can create that again).
About 95% of my tamed animals gets killed :-(.

Suspect the answer might be obvious but... what's FCE?
Fortresscraft evolved or http://store.steampowered.com/app/254200 [External Link] on steam. I love openworld and I love building. Fortresscraft really suits both. At first it might seem a bit blocky, but once you get the hang of it... It's advanced automation and still 3D first-person. And the maker (single guy) is always live streaming his work and his 2 cats.
My most played games are probably mad-max, ark: survival, SR 3, planet explorer and this beauty. And sometimes TIS-100.
