Mount & Blade: Warband Out Of Beta For Linux, Free All Weekend & Thoughts
11 Jul 2014 at 9:40 pm UTC

I absolutely adore this game.

I've played loads of mods for it, but my favourite one is Floris Expanded Mod. It's not a total conversion; it improves the Native game in every single way. And that's why it's the best!

Mount & Blade: Warband Has Hints Of Linux Support Coming
13 Jun 2014 at 2:03 pm UTC

Bah. Warband was good, but the interface was terrible and the battle AI (especially the siege AI) was worse. What we really need is M&B2, which TaleWorlds will be self-publishing and I don't know how interested they are in a Linux port.

Vulture For Nethack On Steam's Greenlight For Linux

I encourage everyone to vote against this. If you are on #rgrd on QuakeNet or listen to Roguelike Radio (an excellent podcast), you know that NetHack has some very serious design flaws that are partially a product of how it was developed, and partially due to its age (it's a 'second generation' roguelike through and through).

At this point, it really brings down the roguelike genere. That is why I recommend against allowing this through. Brogue and Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup are much better examples of roguelikes and very much exist in the third geneation. In defence of good game design and gameplay, I recommend against voting in NetHack.

Stunt Rally Has A New Version Released With New Tracks, New Graphics & More

Use the BACKSPACE key people!!!! It rewinds the game, no need to restart every time. You can also use Nitro with Shift.

Also, The Crystal Hammer (the developer) thinks it makes the game too easy so he won't enable it by default, but I highly recommend turning on ABS and TCS in the settings.

Wasteland 2 RPG New Gameplay Trailer

The beta is almost over and there is still no Linux version. :><:

On the bright side, the game seems to be shaping up quite well and can, on the whole, be considered a Kickstarter success story.

Platinum Arts Sandbox Easy To Use Game Maker Kickstarter And Steam Greenlight Projects

Quoting: mannyindeed worth supporting this open source project.
From what I can tell, it will no longer be open source. It has a stretch goal of $750,000 called "Fully open source". The Cube 2 Engine is permissively licensed so they're perfectly within their rights to do this, but yeah.

Strange that it still says it's based on Cube 2, given that it has been based on the Tesseract engine [External Link] for a long time now. Tesseract is the spiritual successor to Cube 2with a whole new renderer that's on par with Unreal Engine 4 and goes beyond that, even (it has support for Global Illumination, for one). It's also a (pretty bad, because it's instagib-only) game, but its real draw are the cutting edge graphics, of course.
