XCOM Enemy Unknown, Civilization V & Borderlands 2 Heading To Linux?
7 Oct 2013 at 8:59 am UTC

Amazon will not even list Linux support in the Indie games they sale that support Linux. It's not an error exactly, It's just incompetence on the part of the site maintainers. Remember when I was complaining many months ago?. ;)

The Cheapskate's Corner 19 (Sep 27th - Oct 3rd)

Quoting: Quote from BumadarKalypso Media:  tropico 3 en 4 run out of the box for me on crossover, not tried the other yet.
I was curious, so I bought the main bundle, without Tropico 4. On your tip, I did a crossover install of Tropico 3 -- you're right. Everything worked perfectly, except the background video at the main menu; it was a bit laggy.

I was quite surprised actually. It was my first time using Steam via Wine. It seems like a decent game also, quite true to the original Tropico that I loved. So thanks Bumadar, for peaking my curiosity.

Red Orchestra 2 And Tripwire's Future Titles To Come To Linux
1 Oct 2013 at 10:16 am UTC

Unfortunately, something terrible has happened. With every article I ready, the word Linux is fading into oblivion. Instead of wanting to develop for Linux (In name only), now they all want to develop for "SteamOS". Valve has turned it into another Android. :><:

My personal opinion of Valve is changing dramatically.

Raspberry Pi Support Has Landed In SDL2

Quoting: Quote from n30p1r4t3I don't really see the benefit of this give the low spec of the Pi (don't get me wrong it's great). Unless this applies to all ARM processors, I don't expect much to change.
Most people use it to tinker, like building Robots [External Link] and such. Some use it as a Media Center [External Link] and others play Quake 3 [External Link]. But yeah, I wouldn't expect it to run Serious Sam 3 :P

Starlight Inception Space Combat May Come To Linux
30 Sep 2013 at 8:05 pm UTC

Quoting: Quote from zikzakExcellent news ! I enjoyed Zigfrak quite a lot although it is quite limited.
This title is promising but unfortunately if it is only available through Steam I'll not be able to play it.
I loved Zigfrak, reminded me of World of Warcraft in Space. As for Steam, I myself have had some hard thinking about it lately. It annoys me a bit that I can't have a personal copy of my game, like I can on Desura. Because if something happens, at least I'd have a local copy. And let's face it, nothing lasts forever.

Attack Of The Gelatinous Blob Adds Linux Support

And I hope all those fans actually follow through with their purchase. There is nothing worse than demanding support without intentions of purchase.

Eschalon Book 3 RPG Beta To Come November
28 Sep 2013 at 12:31 pm UTC

These are really great RPGs with great stories. I'll be sure to pick this one up as I did the last 2. I just hope the viewing area is larger on this one, the last two were very small and it was hard to see without being two inches in front of the Monitor.

Valve Announces New Controller For SteamOS, Steam Controller
27 Sep 2013 at 8:32 pm UTC

Quoting: Quote from EdgarIt looks like an owl!
It does actually. =p

I don't really play consoles to be honest. I have a Logitech Wingman Cordless, but no idea if that works in Linux or not. I know I've said before that I don't own any Microsoft products, I do. It's very old and I only found it in some boxes recently and it works great if it wasn't for the fact that almost every game on Linux assumes you have a 360 controller -- I wish they would stop that. Anyway, it's an old Sidewinder USB I use to play Trine 2.

If you guys can tell me if my Logitech works with Linux, I'll gladly dump the Microsoft controller in the Goodwill donation box. =) If it doesn't work that's fine, I plan to buy a Corded Gamepad (Any good ones?), can't really stand battery operated devices.
