Quoting: abelthorneDo you know if Valve plan to release their "non-games" on Linux? I.e. Portal 2 The Final Hours (an e-book made with Adobe Air on the developement of the game) and the Source Filmmaker (a 3D scenes editor + video editing software that uses assets from Valve games).Wouldn't hold out much hope for the E-Book, Adobe Air has been depreciated and no longer receives updates or new versions for Linux; unless Valve moved it to a different format. Source Filmmaker sounds interesting, It's in beta right now and might be possible we could see a Linux/Mac version on it's final release. That is, if enough people ask for it in the Community Hub from the Store [External Link] page.

I was unable to play book 1. the 640x480 screen res wasn't cutting it for my eyes. I understand book 2 went up to 1024x768. What's the word on the screen res for 3?.
I understand the need to conform to old fashioned RPGs, but jeepers, give my eyes a break. But I admit, from what I did play, I loved it. The story, open world and quests were excellent and It would be a definite buy for me if it had a decent screen size that didn't kill my eyes from squinting.

If it makes any difference to ya, back when I used Windows I couldn't record anything either. I had used Fraps and Bandicam and never got sound working at all. I really don't know of anything on Linux except Gamecaster [External Link], recordmydesktop [External Link], I hear VLC does captures [External Link] also (testing right now, laggy). There's also Yukon [External Link] and Play on Linux has a built-in [External Link] recorder (samples [External Link].
I really have no idea of anything. Unless someone is sitting on top of something and just not releasing it right now. A lot of it boils down to your computer being fast enough, but it seems no matter how many times I've upgraded over the years; it's never fast enough.
Edit: I liked what VLC produced, as far as recording my desktop. I may use it in the future, but not for games heh.

Quoting: liamdaweI thought that meant Multiplayer mode where you and your friends battle against the AI. I was refering to a Single Player map where one could choose yourself vs the AI, solo.Quoting: Quote from Mike FrettI love War RTS games. Any word if it has a skirmish mode?."Multiplayer modes include, Player versus Player and Player vs A.I."
Sounds like a skirmish mode to me!

Yeah nevermind Phoronix Liam, It's not worth the grey hairs. =p Even though I know it burns you up the way they don't give proper credit, It burns me up too.
As for this, I'm thinking Servers. But the throw off from that is "multi-platform desktop software". After that "experienced by millions of users every month" which begs the question: Where is this multi-platform software? Note the present tense.
Could they possibly be talking about Steam or Desura?. Those distribution platforms match up with the language noted here. Perhaps they are planning to release some of their wares to Steam or Desura?.
