I'm having a blast with it (especially given that it's one those rare animals that gives you correct button prompts when using a Playstation controller )

Still have to finish though .

There's a brand new Steam Play Beta version out with FAudio, also a Steam Play whitelist update

Quoting: GuestOnly unknown games in the whitelist, that’s disappointing.
Idk...Mushihimesama is pretty big news for Cave fans. Although I can vouch that all the Cave games on Steam work great. I see your point though.
I mean Cave games ending up on the white list is pretty big news for Shmupheads such as myself indeed.
And starting with Mushihimesama was thankfully the right choice to make.
Deathsmiles can wait (especially given that Degica is about to drop a micro patch so making a proton setup now would have been dumb ).

I just hope that all the Degica ports (not just the cave stuff) will eventually get on the whitelist.

Quoting: Guesti'll believe it when i see it. If they put their launcher to linux and have support for some of their games.
Look at GOG where is the launcher for that?
People are just not giving linux a chance at all and it is sad.
Valve has really been the only one to give it a shot and it has helped linux a great deal when it comes to being a decent game platform.
I am hoping 2019 is a very very big year for linux.
Well to be fair itch.io is also getting there more and more and their launcher is actually quite great ...

Outside of that minor precision I share your point of view though. I'll believe it when they port it to linux and have a linux build for Fortnite now I'll be taking them seriously ...

Quoting: dubigrasuI do think there should be some distinction between Steam's Proton and vanilla Wine, regardless the connection between the two.
I would be interested to know how many people are ready to accept the lower-effort Proton way, but still don't wanna bother with Wine for example.
Pretty much one if not THE big reason why we should divide both use and clearly ask separately about them.

It'll give indications to how many people are willing to take the time to fiddle with wine , versus people who just want a single click play solution that "just work"...

Yeah I'd like Proton to be its own question to properly separate them and have a clear statistical view of regular wine versus proton use.

That feeling when on your childhood hero punches you in the nuts ...

Oh well guess I wasn't a "jaded cynic" after all for not putting a dime in campaign that sounded to good to be true ...

Quoting: KithopJust going to throw this out there: Every time I hear someone complain about 'SJWs', and how they're ruining-our-whatevers, all I can think of are articles about 'Millenials are killing X industry'.

GOG's social media manager made an insensitive mistake, and in typical fashion, they doubled down on it rather than apologizing or admitting fault.

There's better places to spend your hard earned cash, on DRM-free games or otherwise.

If people want to stop buying games from GOG because of their actions as a company, and if developers want to pull their support, that's all within their rights. Obligatory XKCD [External Link].

tl;dr, you start foaming and raving about 'teh SJWs', it's a big neon sign that says 'ignore what this person has to say and move on, as they've missed the point'.
This just this wether you like it or not nowadays if you use the acronym you're just flagging yourself as a reactionary person , and you just showed your true colors and how much you're unwiling to even listen for a single second.

So again I repeat use the acronym and you get my infinite disdain.

Quoting: BrisseLet's not forget that one time they tweeted (long since deleted) an animated GIF from Postal 2 with the dude pissing on a tomb stone that said "Games Journalism, Committed Suicide, August 28, 2014".
And that's not the only other incident of that kind on how GOG handles social media. It's about time that's some at least mild consequence comes their way ...

Quoting: the3dfxdudeNow thanks to this speculation, I no longer want to comment whether to support GOG or Hinterland, because it wades into appearing to take sides in a stupid political fight.
My very existence and you having to respect me isn't political because it's not up for debate end of the story really.

Quoting: PatolaIt even raises awareness that such motto exists.
That's baffling. What's next? Will Proton be the #FinalSolution for playing games on Linux? Look, I raised awareness to the Holocaust!
