Deep open-world survival game Vintage Story adds a big new weather system

Wow. I've put way too many hours in this game in such a short time. I've now reached the bronze age and its amazing. I love this game. The more I play it, the more I can affirm that this is definitely NOT Minecraft. Everything is so realistic. The sceneries are amazing and when going around the world I get flashbacks of place I've seen in the real world. You have to move around and explore a lot. You won't find everything you need in your basement's mining shaft. I'm at the point where I have to build outposts to have secure areas to sleep at night while foraging and exploring. I've seen pretty much everything I can reach within a day's walk, and coming back home during the night is risky, like in real life the nights can be very dark. That and spending the night in a shop is boring when you have no bed to sleep and nothing to occupy your time. Yeah, smithing anf pottery baking is best done during the night. You don't want to waste daylight time.

I wholeheartedly recommend this game if you like exploration and building games.

I couldn't resist any longer and pulled the trigger. I've only had the chance to play for about 90 minutes so far, but it's fun. A lot more complex than Minecraft, and it seems to play very differently. I don't know how much longer I can survive on cattail roots and berries...

Need to make some pixel art? Pixelorama is a cross-platform FOSS tool worth looking at

Make it compatible with Gimp filters and plugins and you will have a winner. Right now it looks so basic I think I'll stick with Gimp, I've been using it for 20 years and it's a wonderful tool for pixel art.

I would love to get native support for the upcoming Empire of Sins. Cyberpunk 2077 would be a great one to have too! Also getting Borderlands 3 would be the cherry on the topping. :)

How is the input delay? Does the latency cause any problem while playing?

The Linux-powered Atari VCS sounds like it's coming along

Quoting: GuestPerhaps you're right, If Valve had went something like this for the steam box, it'd prob worked out better.

However. This like this Valve's boxes sorta share a common problem, Price. imo

Last I looked, this Atari thing, is a bit pricey for what it is.
Those licenses need to be paid. It's coming with tons of (old) games, and the shareholders want their money. This kind of product is never going to be as cheap as a bare metal box.

I kickstarted the game because a friend knows the developper, its always good to encourage local guys. But as usual with video games on kickstarter its taking forever. At least the alpha was pretty good.

Glad that its finally coming to Linux! I was dismayed a few days ago when I read that it wasn't coming. Kingdom is unlike any other games I played before and I am a big fan. That and the pixel art and effects are gorgeous. I've got my tux buxs ready!

The Away Team: Lost Exodus releases October 22nd, with a price change

Oh yeah, I liked the original game, but it got repetitive fast (its like always reading the same book). I'm glad to see that the game is still supported and can't wait for the new content!
