Abandon Ship, an exploration and combat game with an oil painting like art style will come to Linux

Quoting: razing32Honestly the trailer confused me more than anything else.
The world exploration looked like an open world game - i.e go anywhere do anything.
The combat looked like a rail shooter of all things.
Maybe you should watch the combat gameplay trailer as well.

Fair enough, I stand correcrted.

It's closer to a much more dynamic FTL with the real time/pause mechanics of Paradox games.

If you are taking stream suggestions here I prop up Lisa (good story but frustrating combat) and also Shadowrun.

Albion Online hasn’t exactly been the smoothest of launches so far, but I'm hopeful for the future of it

Hmm , was looking forward to a Linux mmo like this , but I will probably wait for things to stabilize and see if they get any better.
As is , after I saw Sin try to play , it looked like a bit of a mess.

Quoting: lucifertdarkThere wouldn't be any gaming on PC or Linux at all without Indie developers like Codemasters, they are the Original Indie games company that helped kickstart the entire gaming industry back in the 80s.

Look at Valve too, they started out as an Indie game developer with Half-Life.

Complaining about Indie developers is wrong, complain about Bad Indie Devlopers instead, the ones who promise Linux Ports but never deliver on the promise even after FIVE years, that Giana Sisters port for instance, I won't name the developer as they don't deserve the free advertising.
Lets not forget the flood of shill developers who came in when Greenlight opened the gates.
Everything from asset flips to card farmers.

Quoting: razing32Hmm , a competitive economic strategy game . Honestly don't think I've played one of those. Sure I have played games thathad long supply chains before you got to churn out soldiers but never purely economical.
That's making me think of Stellaris, which I'm playing a lot of right now. Building the mining stations and the bases and building up the planets and developing the colonization technologies and enhancing my politics and influence and keeping the people happy and somewhere in mid game we come to the brute fact: It's all so I can make a big stack of warships without the economy falling apart. Not that I really have a problem with that, but there's something absurd there.
I don't think it's absurd.
Think it's trying to emulate all social and political aspects that happen around wartime.
You still need to keep the resources flowing and keep the population content despite the fact you are at war.

since they will be required to have a properly working full build for Steam
These devs seem decent enough , but if you remember some of Jim Sterling's older vids you know this to not be true in the slightest.
