I like strategy games a lot, but after watching reviews, I start thinking, that I will wait a bit before buying. Right now it looks like unfinished game.

Its explore and develop or die! Thats how evolution works and thats how it should be.Yes, and I would like to develop and not relying on some alien technologies in other biomes. Best example is hydrofan. Why it need duplicant to work? They can create super computer, but can not make hydrofan that works on electricity? Any way, I am feeling limited in this game, and that is, what I do not like.

Update from discussion:
Progress update:
Game is running well on SteamOS (Mesa driver 17.2.4)
It's not running on Ubuntu with older AMD GPUs (HD 6950 and older)
Minimum requirements will be OpenGL Core 4.5 or Vulkan
There are some minor issues like ~20s black screen during startup when OpenGL/Vulkan is compiling shaders. We try to postpone it to loading screen.
Unless we hit some roadblock, alpha version 1.13 (coming in week or two) will include Linux support.

I have spent a lot of time in this game, but I still do not like, that it forces me to build base, like devs want. I can not build it, like I want it. I have to hurry exploration, to find geysers and some ways how to cool everything down. And everything is forcing me to build ugly base, that splits into many parts. I understand that there is other biomes and resources, and that is ok, to go and take them. But I do not like, that it is part to survival. Not just next level of technology. It takes fun part out of the game. But that is my opinion and reason, why I do not want it, to play any more.

But I must say I didn't have any problems with crashes or bugs. It works quite good on my Linux Mint. Especially if I compare this game with Cossacks 3, where new crush of the game is just matter of time.

Quoting: KimyrielleIt's indeed mindboggling how this franchise went through six iterations and the AI is just as bad as it was in the first game. Turn 38: "You're such an awesome friend!" Turn 39: "You are a menace to mankind. WAR!!!" Seriously? And it's not that not everybody knows it, or so. Is really nobody at this studio able to code AI that doesn't behave like a drunken lunatic? And if no, why haven't they manged to hire someone who can in the past 25 years?Totally agree! Most of the time AI will start a war, when can not attack. AI in this game is like annoying and drunk neighbour, who can only yell and nothing more. Sometimes it comes at your door, to get slap in the face and crawl back at home. And who even buy expansions, when AI is such a joke?
Also, I am not a fan of resource micromanagement. This has really no place in a grand-strategy title. Civ is about managing empires, not pipelines. I get the idea that modern day wars are often about stealing the other guy's resources and they wanted to have this in the game, but seriously, I don't want to care what my powerplants run on.
But I must say I didn't have any problems with crashes or bugs. It works quite good on my Linux Mint. Especially if I compare this game with Cossacks 3, where new crush of the game is just matter of time.
