Quoting: ToriIf they would release the Debian package, even if as a GOG only, unsupported extra bonus thing, I would buy the game in a heartbeat. For double the price even.

Quoting: LinasDo we have any details on how they make these Windows-only DirectX 12 games work on Stadia? I mean, is it actually running on Linux? [Conspiracy theory intensifies]
Stadia is Linux, Debian Linux, just running in the cloud. Games need to run on Linux + Vulkan to work on Stadia. Games are ported to Stadia, just like they are for any other platform.
It frustrates me somewhat that this is true, but somehow doesn't seem to lead to more Linux releases of titles supporting Stadia.

It should be such a small step from Stadia to generic Linux release, shouldn't it?
It IS frustrating. We were hyped for stadia because it uses linux. Dreamed of getting more games working on linux...

Now it's just another streaming service with exclusives . It does not matter one bit that it uses linux.

Google finally made a Stadia advert that doesn't suck

A news about an advert? Everything for stadia I guess...

Quoting: kuhpunktKinda worried about the future honestly... so much fragmentation, everybody wants its own thing.
Since I think cloud-gaming is worse then gaming on Windows, I hope more services pop up so people get fed up and the whole thing dies. Stadia was/is hyped because it runs Linux. Now there are games on Stadia which are not available on Linux, so it did not help in that regard. Yes, you can use stadia on linux. But, unlike having the binaries on your PC, this might break and you loose access. And they even started with exclusives ..

tldr;
Fragmentation is the chemo-therapy for the cancer which is cloud-gaming.

You are also on LBRY, why not link to this video source as well ?

Quoting: EhvisI find the visuals of this game to be very hard on the eyes. Cool to see an FPS game in Godot though.
Yea it's too bright overall, there's like a fog over everything & the center get's white too often.

Quoting: PatolaThis refusal to answer comments from that Zaimont guy, would that be because of legal reasons? Because with a publicized conflict like that, he's surely not looking to be on the good side. I hope the former employees get their severance package and Health Insurance.
Only source Kotaku, based on allegations.. maybe that legal battle is also being fought in the other direction.

Sucks for the regular employees: The either had an asshole boss or a drama queen bring down the company.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoSo... They actually remade the Linux port of Metro Last Light Redux..

Now, I wonder if the games are true Linux ports or just windows games running via DXVK (or a fork of it).
We have yet to see something to come back out of stadia. The fact it's running linux gave some hope this could improve linux-gaming in general. Right now it looks like it's a closed garden, which is why I'm still throwing my money at valve.

Spambots are an issue, sure. But that's easy to fix: limit the number of messages one can send and give others a way to block.
Now let me get this straight: You shoot, burn and blow up others. But how dare you call them a nasty word, that's too much. That's "hate-speech" and "toxic".
I would not want this in my pony online, sure. But I _DO_ want it in a game about shooting each other. Bring on the banter, that's part of the game.

Linux Mint votes no on Snap packages, APT to block snapd installs

Funny, just yesterday I removed the snap libreoffice and went to the one from apt because performance was abysmal.

Currently in Ubuntu, which Mint builds off, Chromium is an empty package which installs a Snap

Quoting: velemas@Liam please do not associate Stadia with Linux gaming, there are a lot more of Linux fans outside of 14 lucky countries where Stadia is available. Currently Stadia means nothing to me and likely in foreseeable future if at all.

In any case i wonder how Logitech g29 will be managed in Stadia.
It's playing games, on Linux. I will cover it and I shall continue to do so. Don't like it? Don't read it. Filter it out if you must in your profile settings.

As a reminder to all: This website is Gaming On Linux, don't put us in a box of your own making. We cover everything.
The issue is not the covering, but the wording "good news for Linux fans". I am a Linux fan, but I don't consider games going on stadia as good news. Quite the opposite for many reasons, and it seems I am not alone. Let's say there is a diversity of opinions on the topic.
So, sure, cover it. But please don't call it "good news for Linux fans".

PS: auto-correct options for stadia : sadist and diastase
