GOG is sometimes unfathomable: for example, they newly sell Fallout3, Fallout NV and Oblivion. Fallout3 and NV come with many language supported...but for Oblivion, only english XD ... why? ....with no communication on this point as for linux!

That's a pity because one guy did all wine wrappers so the installations are really easy using wine (download it here and a link for many other windows-only-game wine-wrappers [External Link]

GOG: I like drm-free, people visiting and sharing like "adamhm". I dislike no communication, no linux version on many games that have native port, no effort for linux users, weird support of languages when they are available

Pyre from Supergiant Games is coming to Linux, should be a day-1 release

Ooh nooo! Again a Total War! Stop that Feral :P

Looks like Rome: Total War might be coming to Linux, according to Feral's port radar

Quoting: Eike
Quoting: AimHereAlso, Rome is still one of the more popular games in the series, between the nostalgia factor (it was the first proper 3D Total War, and for many gamers, it was their first game in the series), and the relative simplicity of the gameplay. I wouldn't be surprised if it sells more than some of the later TW games.
Do you have a recommendation for a Total War to try for modern graphics and "relatively simplistic" gameplay?
yeah and a tutorial to understand what happens on screen XD
In my Total War, I see soldiers killed and map with stuffs happening. No idea how I can act on the game, like in Crusader king 2 of Paradox. I would have love to play it but I don't have 3 weeks to understand the mechanism of a game. :'-(

Total War: SHOGUN 2 and Fall of the Samurai are heading to Linux from Feral Interactive

well, nice for people liking Total war series.

But too many Total war isn't too much Feral?
Is it because when you ported one Total war, they use the same engine and it makes it easy to port all other Total war?

I finished MadMax after ~60h last week (verdict: largely under Shadow of Mordor). I moved yesterday on Alien. Need another game for next month ^^ but not a total war. Even if I bought you Warhammer, Medieval II and Empire, I never succeeded to get addicted, probably because I can't catch all the game mechanisms.
I will try Long War on Xcom2 and hope for a hidden gem coming from elsewhere.

What type of 4x is it? Low pace and long to progress (like in endless legend or Civ:beyond Earth...too slow and long for me)? Is it the kind of gameplay where you spend your time adjusting small and insignificant parameters to win or more big view?

ATOM, an RPG inspired by Fallout is on Kickstarter, Linux demo available

Nice news. Looks and sounds very good. Will try demo this evening.

One of the character class should be stalker as in the so-impressive novel from Arkady and Boris Strugatsky (if you don't know what to read, try it)

I hope they will hit the second goal to get the crafting system ^^

About Linux games being delayed: A chat with several game developers and porters

The trouble with the market-share on linux is a round-robin process due in part for the fact that game-sellers don't distinguish between linux and windows. The round-robin problem relies on the fact that there is few games on linux (port or directly dev) because people are on windows. But most people are on windows because games are developed for.

for example, I (and many of people around me) would only play on linux OS (Lubuntu or Mint-cinnamon in my family+friends:~20 computers) ... But I (we) have to boot on windows to play some games because we are passionate gamers. I mean that if linux and windows were separated in the game market, I would have to choose an OS for buying my games. And I (and we) would buy games for linux.
But the resellers force me to buy them on windows because Gog and Steam provide them with no distinction to both OS. Pavlov training makes me booting on windows if I want to play (and Office as Libreoffice is still not fully functional for my usage), boot on linux for video watching, internet, mailing, code, markdown and latex.

For me, linux would increase quickly if 1-we have to buy game for one OS becasue we would choose linux OS if available and it will be market-shared, 2-Office softwares on linux would be as functional as Office (ie graph and formula on calc not good enough, writer compatibility with *.docx coming from mac and windows).
