Quoting: MblackwellYou're welcome! :)

I hope you guys saw the new shots on the website:
Lovely!

You are part of the team, right?
In that case, do you know if one could sign an NDA and sell their soul to get a source of your version of the Build engine?
I'd love to play around with that - I know it is probably based on jfbuild, but I have a feeling there is way more to your version.
Quoting: KristianIt is based on EDuke32: http://eduke32.com [External Link]
That's right!

Quoting: JolltThis game will be -is- on my Top 5 games of the last 15 years, not kidding.
From the preview we can really know it's going to be an amazing game. Can't get that awesome box but if they release more digital stuff I'm getting all the deluxe I can hahha.
I got to ask as from what i have seen gameplay wise is it a shooting gallery and story is an after thought or is there a narrative.I am not knocking that type of game its just not my jam i play games for the story and setting.
It's a classic game in the style of games like Duke3D, so while there is technically a story and progression it's not all explicitly told to you. It is not, however, an arena shooter, or even in that style (like Serious Sam, Painkiller, Doom 2016, etc). Levels and encounters are very intentionally designed. Design wise it's definitely a child of the 90s.
Ahh okay may give it a try then because my fear was it was going to be along the painkiller lines (again not my thing i know some people love that style).

Quoting: Whitewolfe80I only have one question Single player or did they ruin it by making it multiplayer only ?
Going by what information they're giving, single-player.
Excellent that makes me very happy and it also means day one purchase.

Quoting: KorhakaLooks interesting, although, whats up with Churchill talking over a game based in the pacific? Wouldn't that be more suited to the Atlantic and hunting u-boats?
Nope Royal Navy was active in the Pacific as well as it was the worlds largest Navy and Empire so they had fleets stationed all over the world and they fought against the Jap navy in 39-41 not to mention the Australian navy which at the time was a colonial force.

Quoting: TheRiddickI have X Rebirth but have been too afraid to try it.. I gotta stop buying games and never playing them, lol

Maybe they should offer a discount for X Rebirth owners, as penitence?

X:R might have been fine if they didn't spend so much resource on making those retarded NPC characters the MAIN thing with the game, people got sick of them fast!
I need to do the same last count i have 107 games in my steam library i have either never played or have less than 1 minute play time

Erm I hope the linux port plays well this is basically fortnite from the visuals to be honest I think its probably going to be doa on windows and switch but maybe it will be a hit on linux as its likely going to be the only native BR we get aside from Balistic overkill they are hyping a new mode and given how popular BR is am guessing its BR

Quoting: WJMazepasI liked this game, but is not dead by now?
no not at all its still active however there are normally only like four servers with population with decent ping for me
It's also reaching that stage of game too where a few superb players are just owning each round. Of the, say, 12 people on a server in a round, 3 have 25-30+ kills, about 5 have 5-10 kills, and 4 have 0-5 kills.
i agree I do wish it was more popular when you consider it has cross platform mp between linux and windows the numbers are low and really there are not that many offerings that are as good for me csgo and tf2 are the big hitters but bo is more fun to me. I used to love xenontic but apart from bots that game is pretty much dead now same as open arena and wolf enemy terrority. Day of infanmy never really took off on linux and thats kind of it for competetive fps on linux. We have a massive shortage of story driven fps as well Bioshock infinite/Metro/deux ex and maybe if feeling generous shadow warrior (though the story is pretty bare bones)Hell i am actually excited about fucking turok a 22 year old game coming out on linux to have something "new" to play.
