Quoting: GuestGame has been running perfect for me on a GTX 1660 super. Users having issues maybe need to update their GPU driver?Oh my god... I thought you weren't gonna find that run button, dude! That was a frustrating, but hilarious couple of naked dungeon dives there!
I have a few videos of the game on my YouTube account. Keep in mind I'm recording and still getting good performance on High 1080p.:

Quoting: emodAll this with a Ryzen 3600X and a RX 5700 XT.Those are pretty much my specs, so I'm not sure what you're running into there!
Quoting: emodI might be wrong, but I believe that the existing 7.3 release simply bypasses EAC, which allows single-player to load.Quoting: scaineI've been really enjoying the game on Proton GE 7.3, but a) it doesn't support EAC...In the bleeding-edge version this appears to be fixed.
Quoting: rustybroomhandleSeems to be here, but with Experimental bleeding-edge it does not seem to load Steam Input and the Overlay and my controller is not recognised.I've heard as much for Experimental, but controller support seems pretty solid (for me) on GE. At least my dualsense (PS5) controller works perfectly.

I've been really enjoying the game on Proton GE 7.3, but a) it doesn't support EAC and b) it freezes after almost exactly 2 hours of playing. I haven't looked into why. But no stutter that I've noticed. Reasonable performance too, albeit I'm playing 1080p. I'm going to try the full-screen hack to see if I can get it even smoother in the more complex scenes. Beautiful game though, and very little of the frustration I felt when playing DS3.

Quoting: jrtCan you please try low settings VR with a dongle? I'm curious, looking at the rumors about the Deckard VR headset. It has more power than a Quest 2.I don't think this is a VR game, is it?
Roguebook adds a timed Tournament system, new character DLC

I "only" have 70 hours in Roguebook, but given how many of these games I've played now, to find one this good was just pure joy. The character synergies are superb, and you're MUCH more likely to find a synergy during a run than you are with StS. Does that make the game easier? Maybe. But the excellent unlocks and ramping (but optional) handicaps keep the game fresh, all the while looking for that new synergy.
Can't recommend it enough.
(although I've also got one eye on Monster Train... the rabbit hole is real)

Quoting: constI played 100 hours or so of StS and loved it. So much, in fact, that I ended up going down a dark road looking for StS-like games, like Hand of Gilgamesh, DreamGate and even sank 20 hours into the excellent (but naughty, and non-native) Neoverse.Quoting: scaineAbsolutely zero interest in the tournament stuff, but a new DLC character is welcome, although synergies between existing characters are already superb, so it'll interesting to discover how they've woven in an entirely new angle! That comment just cost me 16 Euros. Slay the Spire might be my most played game of all time.
This is a genuinely superb game. It surpasses its own inspiration - I'd rather play this than Slay the Spire any day of the week.

I'm a tipping point with Proton. Since its release, I've been very negative on titles that were Windows-only when they should be easy to port, and even more so when they already offer Mac versions. Throw in "Indie", and I pretty much pass over most such games unless/until they support my platform.
But... but. That was mainly because there was no support. It was Valve doing all the heavy-lifting and I could still have been left out on a limb if those developers had changed enough of their game that Proton broke. Then what? Complain to Valve? Not worth it. Complain to the dev? They don't care, and worse, Windows fan boys will pile in to condemn the "Linux zealots".
Now though, with Deck inbound, Valve is still doing the heavy lifting, but they've got developers on board with the idea of directly supporting their titles to be compatible with Proton.
So, yeah, this is a tipping point for me. If that continues to be the direction of travel, I'm not going to have much of the same resistance I have right now. I might still wait for sales on Proton titles, whereas native titles are bought on release, but it's definitely going to foster a change in attitude, for me.
Interesting times ahead.

Quoting: undeadbydawnSuccess!Probably because... why would anyone turn the steam overlay off, unless its known to cause problems (about 2 games in my 1000+ library)?
Turned Steam Overlay on and everything worked instantly.
I'm somewhat curious as to why I've never seen this mentioned anywhere else, ever

I've had my money's worth with this game over the years and don't play any more, but I was still disappointed to hear that I have to "migrate" my account to be a Microsoft Live account in order to login and play.

Quoting: CatKillerIn the end, "Available on PC" will be infuriatingly true.On their special update page, the title for the Steam Deck section is "Native Steam Deck Support", although it's not clear what kind of "Native" they actually mean - as right now there's still only the Windows build on Steam.I expect that we'll get this kind of muddled language from developers for a while, where they're contemplating the Deck as a console and not thinking about Linux at all. Hopefully it'll get cleared up in time with more experience, more direct testing, and more marketshare for Linux as a gaming platform.
