This is an absolute gem of a game, and the extra context they added for this 1.0 is epic. Great job by the developers. If you enjoy deck-building, you'll probably find that this scratches the same itch - it's a lot of fun finding those game-breaking synergies that let you tear through the tougher enemies!.
GNOME gets €1M funding from the Sovereign Tech Fund

As for donating to KDE, here's the official link [External Link]. I did the base amount (£25/quarter), but hoping to up it next year! Or you can do one-off donations there too.
But you're right, there's nothing like proper corporate funding, and I hope KDE gets some love eventually.

Quoting: MinuxIt's always a good notice when an open-source project gets more support. I'd love if more desktops got more funding though. I love Gnome but there are more who deserve it. And that's a lot of money!I'm the other way around. I'm fully settled on KDE, but I'd still like to find the ideal distro!
I'd love to see more love towards KDE. They're doing an awesome job. I think at least it has some support from Valve and people like us who also love them.
I ended my distro-hopping now I'd love if I could end my desktop-hopping.

Quoting: mrdeathjrIn my case can confirm Intel QSV H264 appears enabled but usage stay around 70% of render/3d and around 20% of video according intel-gpu-top in recordingThat doesn't sound right then. QSV is meant to be more efficient, specifically more power efficient [External Link]. Doesn't sound like it's working quite right yet.

but is too much compared ffmpeg 6.1, usage stay around 30% of render/3d and around 20% of video according intel-gpu-top in recording

Quoting: Liam DaweAwful change to the media player. Who the hell approved that? Glad I don't use Steam for playing music, I guess.Quoting: dpanterNice changes, but making the album art smaller and the download button bigger is the opposite of improvement IMHO (unless the images are reversed).Nope, images are correct and yeah that doesn't particularly feel like an improvement, the buttons are way too big and you actually now see less of the list.

All I've played recently (apart from short games of Noita [External Link] of course), is Inkbound [External Link]. Absolutely amazing multiplayer roguelite from the creators of Monster Train. Highly recommended.
Inkbound is also 25% off until Saturday too.

October 23 Steam Survey: Simplified Chinese rises, Linux and macOS decline

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI don't disagree. I'm just saying that I, personally, don't care about China's impact on Steam stats. I'd rather not see them.Quoting: scaineThese Simplified Chinese spikes are just noise (to me). Steam isn't explicitly blocked in China, but it's such a grey area, I'd rather filter out the whole country when considering the Linux marketshare globally.Well, but, if it's so grey-area-almost-blocked, how does Simplified Chinese manage to show up as 45.93% of the total Steam use? That seems like a market chunk big enough it should maybe not be filtered out or treated as noise.
China is a huge important country. And certain other powers' determination to change that situation do not seem likely to work; it is just going to keep on getting more important as time goes on. That's not a judgement of values; it's not about whether I like China or like US dominance better or whatever, I'm just saying that's what is going to happen, unless there's a hot war that goes nuclear and everybody loses. So for Linux people, I think them not using Linux is a Big Deal and likely to get bigger.
Devolver Digital acquires ASTRONEER developer System Era Softworks

I never did pick up Astroneer. I think this was one of those slightly bizarre scenarios where, years ago, they said they were "considering" Linux support, but it never happened, so I never bought it. Sad to see yet another acquisition, but as the article notes, at least it's not the likes of <shiver> Microsoft, Embracer or Epic.

These Simplified Chinese spikes are just noise (to me). Steam isn't explicitly blocked in China, but it's such a grey area, I'd rather filter out the whole country when considering the Linux marketshare globally. And while only focusing on English isn't probably the best way to do so, it's simple and (so far) appears to be giving us a consistent view of overall growth.

Quoting: LinuxerThe link is the first in the article - GOL's "Steam Tracker". The bottom graph on that page collates all the data as usual, but focuses only on the English language, which gives a (perhaps) more indicative figure of Linux's overall share compared to Win/OSX.Quoting: pbI cantsee this number anywhere either :dizzy: what do you guys do to dig these up!?Quoting: mad_mesaLooking on the brightside, the English-only tracker hit an all time high with Linux at 4.15%.This should be a part of the article, not a separateDLCcomment.
