Hopefully that also means that the highly anticipated Mount & Blades 2 might one day come to us.
I will be more than content with Warband though.

Age Of Wonders III Strategy Game Confirmed For Linux
13 Jun 2014 at 1:11 pm UTC
Console Games consists mainly of Platformers, Racing Games, Shooters and Sport Games.
I am not saying that one platform is better than the other (even if I am heavily biased towards one of them, and yes I have 4 consoles). In fact, in time we may see both genre converging fully. Microsoft and Valve will be doing this with Windows and SteamOS, the next xbox will surely run windows.
As for the rant, I think in a way, that the production of games reflects the demand from the market in PC gaming, so you may be in a minority, however that does not mean that you will not be heard. Look at us on Linux, we only have 1-2% of the market share, but have been taken seriously.

Quoting: BeamboomOk I'm gonna be a real spoiled brat now but please bear with me guys:Welcome to PC gaming :). This is where we depart from Console Gamers, in that we have adventure games in point and click, rts, turn-based strategy, indies, twitch FPS, Platformers (often heavily influenced by early consoles like the Snes)and all kind of bizarre genres that are hard to put into one category.
I think it's far, far too many strategy games on PC. Sometimes it feels like pretty much every title of a certain size are at least partially strategy based.
I mean, sure, there are other genres too. But if one look at the rooster for upcoming games then hot damn how many of them who are strategy based. Strategy RPG, strategy shooter, strategy platformer, strategy strategy strategy. And the indies? Turn-based strategy all the way, baby!
Thanks. I just had to let that rant off my chest.
I am no big strategy fan. :)

I bought all the DLC that I had not bought on the Humble Bundle offer. I had already got Civ 5 the main game before that, so I guess even with the discounts, I have still payed quite a neat sum to these developers.
I will repeat my gesture when the next Civ comes out, which is quite soon from what I understand.

I have had an eye on this game for a while now, ever since I started playing Mike singletons Lords of Midnight,on Android.
Good times...
For now, the hud seems a bit complicated, but I will need to play the game a little to understand the mechanics...

I have been waiting for that game a long time now :|
But I waited 10 years for Fallout 3 so I guess it is only a small hindrance.

OK, so now I have given the game a spin, I can say that on Ultra it does seem unplayable on my particular config. This is 8gb of ram, a GTX760, and a Haswell i5 processor.
Of course, I will try to now tweak the settings, unselect vsync etc..and I am sure that it will be playable.
On windows, with the same rig, the game ran super smooth, but I know that the game was coded specifically to run on windows originally.
We can probably expect some updates soon, with various fixes to improve performance.
I don't think this will ever be as good as on Windows, but I am still thankful that ProjectRed has made the first step of bringing the game on this platform.
But just to steer the conversation in another direction, how does the Linux port compare to the MAC one? It seems that they are not having a fluid experience either?

I have just bought all the DLC's for Crusader Kings 2!

Quoting: wleoncioWell, to be honest, I picked it up on a Humble Bundle. I think that your idea of buying the DLCs for games we already own when they come to Linux is a great idea. It sure will show them WHICH machine it is being played on, and also will give them a small financial boost.Quoting: OZSeafordI bought it with all the DLC's as was hoping it would come to linux one dayI did the same thing with XCOM: EU, but no DLCs. Is buying DLCs (or the games themselves) after an eventual Linux announcement help bring attention to Linux? How does Steam count OS usage, by the OS on which a game is installed or what?

Wait for it, maybe this is much bigger than we think!
Imagine that the host machine is not at your house, but somewhere in Gabeland?
That would mean you would not have to even own a Windows machine, and that all 3500 games would be available to play on your SteamOS box. Your SteamOS box need not be a beast as well, modest specs will enable you to play well with a thin-client.
Onlive did not work out that great, but this is 3 years later.
Then you will say, what is the incentive for the development of Native SteamOS games? well, let's face it, there would always be some discernable lag between input and what happens on the screen, even with the mighty Steam Controller. So people would still buy the native versions when available.

For me it was simply a 25MB download, as the game was already downloaded 2 months ago, when they first gave access to the game.
I can't believe this is happening, thios and all the other games, I now have a BACKLOG of AAA games on Linux!
