Nice to see that project is still going full steam ahead.

Steam Machines, Steam Link & Steam Controller Officially Released & SteamOS Sale
10 Nov 2015 at 10:13 pm UTC

OK, I agree that the launch was lackluster, and completely overshadowed by the Fallout 4 release. I can't imagine Bethesda currently looking to break into the Linux platform...time will tell, but really skeptical...

However, I am happy that at last it's official, SteamOS is out!

Hopefully, we will soon be getting some more games. Let's also look back at these last 3 years. When I started on Linux, there was nothing in the way of commercial games...And now...well, there is much more.

Of the 866 games I have, 413 are for Linux. That's quite amazing!

EDIT- Please bring me rocket cars...

Well I just bought Alien: Isolation on the Humble Bundle store, with -75%.

I have also ordered a box of nappies. You are never too careful.

Once again, my wife will hear bloodcurdling screams as I try to play through at least 30 minutes in...

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Reviewed For Linux

Quoting: edqeIt is great to have this game on Linux although personally I don't like the game at all. The game is way too simplistic, repetitive and easy (at least with m+kb) for my taste. Nemesis-system is fine but Crusader Kings has it already but in much more deep and versatile form.
Haha, a comparison with Crusader Kings was the last thing I was expecting to see. Good game as well by the way.

I have managed to cram in a few hours of play, and whilst the game is quite deep, ultimately, it does get a bit easier, and you do become a sort of unstoppable killing machine. Still, this is one of the few games that I have not put down this year, so there must be something to it.

HTC Vive Plans Linux/SteamOS Support For Day 1

Well, for me that is one of the must buy accessories for next year, if it supports Linux.

VR may be considered a fad for some, but it is one that one should definitely experience.

I was previously vying for the Oculus, but since the FB acquisition, it became quite a lacklustre proposition, in my eyes anyway, I should have guessed it would not be great when Mr. Doom joined up... Just joking of course, wishing all the best to their CTO.

What I am hoping is that the Vive will not require too much room to operate, as my gaming space is quite small (I live in the UK where space is the ultimate luxury).

Ubuntu Developers Looking To Simplify Getting Latest Nvidia Graphics Drivers

Great stuff.

I now use the edgers ppa, but I would like this to be available from the official repositories on Ubuntu.

Simplicity is the way forward.

Shadow of Mordor Nvidia Benchmarks On Linux

Sorry, I did not mean to hijack your thread to make it a tech support one :D

Its Intel Core i5-4670K CPU, with 8 gb of RAM, a hybrid ssd, and my trusty GTX760.

EDIT - thanks to you both, I shall follow the instructions. It's quite neat to include the ppa. I have to say that each time I load the game it says that my driver is not compatible, but so far, apart from the low fps, which tbh is bearable at 25-30, the game runs really smoothly. Super stable.

What?????

I am on a GTX760, and I get an average of around 25-30fps on medium detail.

Is it because I am using the default driver? I am on version 340.76...

EDIT - I am still having major fun with this game, I have already put 10 hours into it, which is a lot for a working dad...Not a single crash...
